Since August 2021
So, due to illness and work and other stuff, we've only been out in our MoHo twice since we bought it in August. It was perfect and looked brand new, even though it's nearly 11 years old. We were told it had only ever been stored under cover by the previous two owners. However, we've had to keep it outside as we have nowhere to store it under cover and couldn't find anyone local with a barn etc. So, it's sat outside all winter and I've lost all confidence in going out in him. After some welcome support from other members here, we'd planned on taking a short trip to the local weighbridge to get us out and do something different. All was well, until I opened one of the top kitchen cupboards. There's been a leak. The top lining of the cupboard is warped downwards and there's mould in there. On the outside, it looks like the side of the van has parted company slightly with the roof. I'll get some pictures later. I'm heartbroken. I was all geared up to go out and get over my fear of breaking down and now I'm so down again with the whole thing.

Anyway, just needed to share this. I'll get some pics later and maybe some of you lovely people with be able to tell me what can be done, if anything. Oh, and before I forget, I live in France. I've been scolded before for not making this apparent on my posts :)

Pics soonest, and then advice!!(y)(y)
(Chin-up!:sym:)

Stick with it and get the pictures done and then you'll get advice on how to tackle the problem.
I am sure it will be a minor leak easily solved then get away and enjoy it.

It may seen like it’s all downwards, but honestly it’ll get sorted, off the road a short while whilst it’s repaired and by then you’ll be raring to go out in it. I’m just sorry it’s happened, but chin up and only look forward.

Big man hugs 🤗

As above, please post pictures. There are a number of helpful people on here who can give good advice and at least point you in the right direction

OK, so here are the pics of my leaky roof and the damage to the cupboard. The top lining of the cupboard was all sagging down when I first opened the cupboard. Fortunately, there is no damage to the floor of the cupboard so I think the water that has come in has just stayed on top of the lining. It's still a little damp, so I'm leaving it to dry out before I touch it. I'm hoping that any 'damage' is superficial and, once the mould has been cleaned off, it may not be so bad.

As for the outside, it's the first time I've ever looked at the roof. It looks to me like it's been masticced to within an inch of its life!! Maybe it's had a tiny leak before and they've gone for a belt and braces approach.....or is this amount of mastic normal? Some of the mastic looks dry and cracked. Do you think it all needs re-doing? Also, if you look at the side of the van, looking upwards, it looks like the side of the van has moved inwards a little, creating a gap between it and the roof. I guess this need sealing?

Anyway, any thoughts from you wonderful people would be very much appreciated.

I assume that, where the water is pooling in your first photo (the one showing part of the solar panel) is where the cupboard damage is? The mastic looks completely knackered (technical term! ;) ) and should be redone, but not before first confirming that is where the ingress is, and allowing it to dry so that any other damage can be assessed…..:(
