Just browsing through stuff as the afternoon sun warms up the van and a bloody advert caught my attention...

"Ooh," I say to myself, "That looks nice."

And a couple of button presses later I have bought one...

It's just too easy...

I will call it my Xmas present.

Tica tica Timex £19.99 at Argos had it for 6 years, had to renew the battery once, when it knackers out I'll skip it and get another of the same.
It's a Watch , it tells the time, tiz stainless steel, push a tit at night and it lights up for me to see the time.
Just in case you missed it, it cost me 6 years ago £19.99.
SO? what does your watch do that mine doesn't?

Huh wish I was a rich foreign landowner :p

Just googled it. these are bloody expensive watches. Take care.

$60 and with such a pedigree too

I took my watch off the day I retired and have never worn one since. Church bells next door get me up at 7am, church bells wherever I am confirm it is lunchtime and I know when it is time to stop fishing and go home for my tea when the 7 O'Clock evening bells have finished chiming.

Oh. And there is a clock on my mobile, in the van, car and MH, on the microwave, two bedside clocks, another in the kitchen..............

Who needs a watch anyway? :D2

It might get stolen along with an android tablet and £2000 cash if you get gassed or are you safe in Portugal?

I love wrist watches. I have since I learnt to tell the time.

I think they are brilliant(y)

Do they stop working when you go through a tunnel?
Then catch up when you exit, I think mine does:D

With your relaxed life-style, I wonder why you need to know what time it is

I need to know how long it is until kick off...

I refer you to my answer above...

Good God man... are you only interested in stuff you actually need?

I tend to collect stuff I want.

Can't remember the last item I bought because I needed it...

And what do my watches do that yours doesn't?

They wind themselves up automatically (so don't need to go online to be wound up) and they don't need batteries...;)

Next question...

I love wrist watches. I have since I learnt to tell the time.

About 5 years ago I was on ebay and saw a nice looking watch, Darch, for $0.50, yes half a dollar plus a few dollars post. It arrived, it was lovely. I got two more.

5 years on, I'm still wearing it and if it varies, relative to the atomic clock, by more then a second a month I'm shocked. Wife has one of the others and the third sits there as a spare and matches the first to the second.

Just one of those things in life that brings on a big smile.

Wrist watches are things of beauty and precision engineering.

If I could have I would have married a wrist watch(y)

“Selection of high hardness synthetic sapphire crystal glass mirror, don't afraid of dill and smash, with the quality of high temperature resistance and super anti-corrosion”

Could almost have been cut and pasted from the Rolex website........

Nice looking watch though, enjoy.

There was a Little guy in Mombassa in the 60`s, Sold "rolex`s" for £5. Used to come on board with about 30 watches strapped all the way up both arms, sold quite a few to crew members.;) Seem to remember most died by the time we got to the Gulf, The Cockroach had passed away!:D2

So you have to wear them all at once?

My latest watch purchase from China arrived just before heading down to the Algarve for the festive season.

It looks fantastic!

Sadly two of the hands of the little dials have fallen off. :(

I am pretty sure my watch man in Ansiao will be able to refix them in place...

...but I fired off a couple of very friendly emails to the supplier's support line saying how happy I was with the watches I had bought from them, but what should I do about the fallen off hands.

Got a reply twenty four hours later apologising for my inconvenience and reporting that they had sold out of that watch so they cannot replace it.

They offered me my money back via PayPal or I could be credited with the price of the watch (plus bonus points) against any future purchases.

In both instances I could keep the broken watch...

I chose the latter offer.

Result.

Now browsing through their automatic watch section... (y)
