We're off through the tunnel early Sunday, two oldies with two mutts. Got the euros ACSI card and all the Aires books etc. is it as hot as they say? Planning on using sites and Aires and staying in France instead of blundering down to the costas like before. I'm under strict orders not to 'crack on' ( ex truck driver) so will be pottering about looking for a shady spot while not using too much petrol .

Enjoy your trip just hope you haven't got a dometic fridge ?

Obviously I don’t recommend your holiday destination but I hope you have a great time.

Just a word of warning though - it’s very hot and boring at the moment.

In September it will just be boring.

We are booked on the tunnel in 4 weeks time and are undecided where to head for as we always seem to head in same directions.Keep us informed where you end up !

Have a great time, you haven't got much longer to use the ACSI card.

Have a great trip. This time next week we will be heading that way too, also with 2 mutts. Staying East is the only plan we have as we did Normandy / Brittany and Saumur in April.

We're in France now ms it blistering hot 43°today but getting cooler. Trying to find sites with some shade. 34°in the van last night. Must be acclimatising though as it felt cold this morning at 20°
Happy traveling you'll love it! We do. First time for Andrew to France, 4th time for me he said we'll definitely come back. You get hooked on France, you really do!
Ps. We've only used the acsi card once and then the site was cheap enough as it was. We use Park 4night a lot and all the aires books.

Morning Dilbert, We are currently not too far from Carcassonne and it’s scorchio ??. As previously stated you only have til July 7th with ACSI until it starts again end Aug/beginning of September. Just take your time and enjoy your trip, hope the mutts have some cool doggy shades to wear

Remember it's cooler the higher you go. It is very noticeable how after crossing a col the temperature rises as you descend the other side. Head for mountains!

But next week shouldn't be too bad, cooler weather is coming.

We’ve moved from Samaur to go north where it’s cooler. Very very hot in middle or south this week. Stay north or go east to the mountains as Mr DBK said.
Have a great time!:)

Can thoroughly recommend the Camping Municipals too, very reasonable and some lovely spots. Try near, Rennes, St Aubin du Cormieres - great dog walks in a shady woods and a small lake, on the edge of a vibrant village with a market day - what's not to like!

We are in Brittany on the gulf du Morbihan above Vannes where the temperature is low 20s. The very hot weather is missing this area fortunately for us, the temperature is expected to rise but nowhere near the very hot regions.

Expecting 38C or more (in the shade) from today for the next few days, here in west-central France. Feeling hotter than that because of the high humidity.
