Dear All,
Occasionally, a large icon appears on the left hand edge of the SatNav screen above the 'Speed Limit' icon. It consists of a large unrotating arrow pointing in one of various directions with a distance (e.g. 200yds) written alongside it. The distance at each appearance of the icon stays constant no matter how far I travel. It is a large, distracting icon. I have searched the 82 pages of the online manual (March 2020 V1.0) and there is no similar icon explained. Anyone know how to permanently eliminate it. Neither Xzent nor Naviextras will address the question.
The unit came with a new (March 2022) Auto-Trail F60 motorhome on a Ford chassis.
I have simulated the icon on the attached image.

Can't help but on my Clarion stereo running IGO I get strange icons appearing I've never been able to find out what they are. So you are not alone.

I had odd 'bleeps' coming out of our system,
'Oh! It's a speed warning' No.
It's this. it's that.

In the end I discovered that it was numerous a warnings??? telling me of the narrowing of a road, a hill, (down and up) Even on Motorways?

Thing is, the Sat Nav is in the middle of the van and to read the 1/8" writing would be a road safety hazard in it's own right.

Perhaps it's ET phoning home.

Looks like it’s straight ahead at junction in 220yds🤔

Glad I don't have that satnav.
The screens too busy by far for something that guides you to a destination.

My thoughts exactly.. what on earth is that all about..

Does it indicate a dual carriageway?
Almost? As the number of yards does not change, I'm beginning to think that it is indicating that I am off the prescribed carriageway by 220yards. The xent display places its 'own vehicle' icon on the nearest carriageway that it thinks you should be on NOT the actual position derived from GPS. The one time I recall it appearing we were Dover bound on the M20 but diverted onto the London bound half of the motorway as a result of 'Operation Brock' - the lorries were being stacked on the Dover bound side of the M20. We would have been approximately 220yards 'off track'.
Well its a hypothesis that needs testing (in the absence of any support from xzent).

And for Pappajohn, yes, not only is it cluttered but the key information is small and placed on the left hand side - OK for left hand drive vehicles. There is no option to mirror the display for RHD.

Dear All,
An update for the curious: After a couple of weeks of monitoring (by a passenger), it seems that the icon consistently appears (on a country road e.g. the Fosseway across Gloucestershire), up a half mile before a house drive/farmouse access. The distance counts down and goes to zero within a few yards of the entrance. It is the type of indication that could be very useful to a postman or parcel delivery driver. I have found no means of not displaying it. On two occasions, The large white arrow was replaced by a no left turn sign. The associated entrances had no restrictions.

Further for the curious:-
The icon disappears if the vehicle selection is altered to car, which supports the hypothesis that the mapping is designed for delivery vans. I have yet to see any information displayed relevant to MoHos when that specific category of vehicle is selected i.e. it doesn't indicate low bridges/narrow roads.
As a further experiment, we set the vehicle type to the heaviest vehicle and another feature appeared! At the top of the screen passing house numbers, for both sides of the road, appeared - with good accuracy.
I'm beginning to wonder if I have the wrong mapping? If only xZent or their mapping supplier offered support!
Cheers
Bob
