Now it's Our Turn!

On a lovely small CL just past Birmingham on our way to Portsmouth and the Galicia to Santander tomorrow night. Sauntering around Spain for 6 to 10 weeks. Very little plans. Will try and post pictures and comments.
Enjoy the trip.

2 pleasant nights on the Galicia with a dog friendly cabin. No complaints. We are now on an aire Santelices, just below the snow line. Fantastic views and walks/bike rides.

There is a disused railway track now for bikes just by the aire. First bike ride in 2 years - sore bums but not a bit of bright lycra here - old school! We don't go fast enough for helmets!!

Photos - off aire at Santelices. Then to Puentodey for a walk before stopping at an aire in Spain's smallest city Frias. Medieval city, absolutely wonderful. Photos to follow. Ok

looks and sounds like (y)ou are going to have a great time on your travels.
Keep us informed with your pics.

Please for your safety, wear a well fitting helmet, I fell off when going that slow up a Welsh mountain and smashed my bike helmet on the dry stone wall. 8 stitches in the head wound.

After a restorative 2 nights in Santelices we explored Puentedey village, nearby waterfall whilst parking on a lovely aire. Didn't stay the night but went on to Spain's smallest city - Frias. Simply beautiful with a good aire. Brilliant meal with views.

Seconded (y) we always wear ours ,it's not worth the risk ,going slowly can make things worse ,the ground is usually a lot harder than your head.

Driving in Spain, especially central Spain, is wonderful. Long roads with hardly any traffic. We can mouch along at 40 mph taking in all the views safely without any humpty up our dirt box.

I am aware of someone who toppled over on a stationary bike, struck their head on a kerb and unfortunately died instantly.

I’m really enjoying seeing your photos and have added all three of your stops to my ever growing list of places to visit! Thanks for posting, enjoy your journey.

Should have been no numpty up our dirt box, ( exhaust!).
Tuesday, 8th. Cruised down to Arnedillo which has a stunning aire set above the village with 360° views. €10 / night. Stayed 2 nights enjoying walks, views and local bars. This is a large clean aire with toilets and usual facilities.

Still no sign of Brits or, in fact, many motorhomes.
Moved down to Trasmoz village which is still excommunicated by the church! Lovely village with great walk and history. Stayed on their large car park - €2 - not too bad when we arrived but, after heavy rain in the night, got very muddy. Only stayed the night .

Wooooops!! Put wrong photos up!! Those last ones are of Anento and the description is correct but for the excommunication! My fault for not doing this every evening!! Sorry. Trasmoz has a wonderful free aire - EHU at €4 2 pin connector required. Fantastic views and interesting village. Don't bother with the one and only bar - totally negative service.

Finally on track!! We left Anento traveling down the 234 setting the satnav off the A23 motorway. This is just a lovely long road with a great surface and hardly any traffic. One or two small towns to go though but not like France. We arrived at our first campsite - Camping Cuidad Albarrcin yesterday Sunday, 13th. Leaving Tuesday. Just to recharge and discover the unique history. Arrived in beautiful sunshine and decided to go walking today!! Which has turned out to be wet and very windy. Wonderful campsite with excellent facilities. Our pitch has fantastic views and finally some Brits - 4 motorhomes and a caravan! Yesterday's photos.

Also a legal requirement in Spain to wear a helmet outside built-up areas..the rider may not be travelling fast but what hits them might be...
