Advice and knowledge required. We are going up to for my daughters birthday and her varsity rugby match on the bank holiday weekend at the beginning of May. We have stayed at a CL nearby before but would like to be a bit nearer the centre or on a very good bus route. Not planning on taking the cycles. So all suggestions gratefully received.

There is a campsite at Holme Pierrepont Country Park, home of The National Watersports Centre it is located on the River Trent.
If you are lucky you can watch them white water rafting

There is bus or cycle path into the town centre

Janis

There us a camp site at stragglethorpe, not too sure about bus route, where abouts in notts do you need to be?

Hi Michelle,
I live in Nottingham and the closest site to the city centre I no of is Holme Pierrepont Country Park, it's just on the edge of west bridgeford which is a very nice town
West Bridgeford has some really nice bars and restaurants and is on a really good bus route into the City
I would imagine a taxi into Nottingham would be about £10-£12 but like I say the bus service is really good
Cheers Steve

Thanks for all the replies, will be investigating them shortly. Daughter is playing rugby at Notts Uni so not too far out if possible :)

Honestly the site at Holme Pierrpont is your best bet and is a 10 minute drive from the Uni
