Sorry to hear this 😢
Hopefully everyone OK & unhurt
No injuries, the bulkhead took the brunt of the impact, but at it's cost. Gutted though, just gutted. Police helpfull, insurance, woeful, traffic cop, really helpful. Currently limping back towards Dieppe.

Are you in Toulouse right now? Have you had some help from your break down cover? Do you need a translator with a french mechanic or can you manage with French or even with an app?
Let me know. I'll be quite busy this week end as going to Rambouillet on Monday but will do my best to help if necessary
EDIT : Sorry was typing while you answered

Awful for you, glad no injuries, metal and plastic can be replaced but that's probably a long way from your thoughts just now.
At least it seems to be driveable.
Limp home and put it down to experience

Many sympathies. I suppose nobody got his/her number, probably false anyway.

I hope you were heading home anyway and not starting holiday.

Door and filler seem to be usable. You say limping back, is that just because you feel down or is there some restriction on the vehicle.

Get home, then tackle the insurance.

I do not know whether France has the equivalent of MIB, but when you get around to the claim, it may be worth enquiring. May be Frankie knows.

Yodeli, many thanks. The police escorted us to the local station to take a statement. Unbelievablely, the van drove OK
So, I gaffer taped everything thing up and we are now in Lomoges for the night. Tomorrow I plan on getting within a stones throw of Dieppe ready for the ferry on Tuesday. So coping at the moment, many thanks ❤

Dash cam ?
None, vehicle was sideways on to me
Police are going to check the peage we went through a couple of minutes earlier. I was able to collect enough debris off the road from the other car to identify the make and colour.

Everyone's worst nightmare and it will be small consolation it is still drivable. Hopefully, you can still refuel it, the impact was very close to the filler.
Profound sympathies. :(
Yes, checked and fillers still accessible.

We can see daylight through the side of the van at the bulkhead, so taking it steady. It's OK on French roads, but the M25 beckons once we're home!!

If you want to take it gently and are not in a hurry then you have decent A roads all the way home.

Dover to the A2,
A2 or M2 to Sittingbourne
A249 to Maidstone
Then A25 all the way to almost Guildford.

I think your timing is good. Rain is forecast around there tomorrow but much better further north. Very best wishes for a safe return and good resolution to your problem.

BouncyBoatFolk. Another here that is sorry to see your pride andjoy destroyed, by another's malicious actions. :madder: However, you and yours are still around to "tell the tale" as they say, which is the most important factor. :hugs:

I wish you well in going forward with the claim, and hope that you'll be able to continue with your MH hobby. (y)

Best wishes,

Jock. :)

That's awful! 😖
Although its hard to get to grips with it all right now but as other's have said, at least no one was seriously injured and although everyone's van is their pride & joy it can be replaced and you'll have another pride & joy again and off on more adventures, good luck with any perspective future claims, I hope that your insurance legal team earn their wages and get it all sorted out properly for you 💜
