There's no such thing as a proper northern old pie. Such excellent comestibles are always consumed before they have a chance to get old.
You are obviously the victim of a recycling scheme for Greggs and Ginster (carrotless) products.

Must be a South Western pasty then, probably discarded by a northerner thinking it was a pie(y)

We were introduced to Meat & Potato Pies from Cleaton Moor, Cumbria when we were in north west Lake District this year. (y) IMG_3880.JPG

This Gull was sitting on my bonnet while I was eating a pie on the south coast.
It must have followed me home! :D

That's nota pie, it's chemical warfare. Grey slime in a tin, when heated up is still rancid

Only the Old fashioned Deluded ones.
    sorry to hear about Al.

Bozrah - Albert H. Ross Sr., born in Bozrah on Aug. 12, 1924, son of Casper and Jessie (Ames) Ross, died unexpectedly at home on Nov 3rd. Al was proud to be the third generation to operate his family farm. He tended a large garden well into his 80s and was happy to share the vegetables with his family and friends. He never hesitated to help others and will be remembered for his generosity. His door was always open and the coffee was always on. -Seems he ate a suspect Pie
and was last seen in a tree cra**ing on an old coachbuilt motorhome
