Lots but slow learner.
Tomorrow we are off to North Wales for 4 days.
On the 18th Sept we want to go to the North Devon Coast for 1 week to 9 days. Could you recommend a really nice fully serviced site. We will be setting up then hiring a car for the week to explore during the day so if the site had a club/pub/restaurant or at least within a very short stroll it would be fantastic. Ta.

Mill Park Campsite, Berrynarbor near Ilfracombe. Lovely site 2 pubs within a few mins walk.

CMC site at Willingcot = Tarka trail from site, pub across road.
North morte farm = fantastic views, two good pubs within walking distance, coast path walks.
Hidden valley = pub bar on site check if open, bus service from entrance.

Thanks for the offer. We want a fully serviced site for at least a week. Want to set up and then tour the area in a hired car.

Damage Barton is nice unsure if it will fit all your needs but sites look busy out there at the moment.
We were that way in July e we gave up trying to hire a car as they can’t deliver on site anymore & swmbo doesn’t drive

Hidden Valley is ok near Braunton... it’s worth staying there just to go to Squire’s Chippy... close to Infracombe, Saunton Sands and Croyde

Stayed there in August and the restaurant was open but showers and toilets weren’t..

When we get on site and set up in Wales i will have a good look see at the above sites. Thanks all.

We were down in North Devon in July visiting family, and stayed at the Ilfracombe CAMC site which is is above Ilfracombe in a village called West Down (which has a pub). It was a lovely relaxed site - all pitches are grass but lots of space and EHU. There's no amenities block so you need to use your own facilities. We really enjoyed our stay there. They've got availability for your dates in case you can't find a fully serviced site.

What's driving a MH in Porlock like?

DONT FOLLOW THE SIGNS!
To get to Sparkhayes go down the road called Medowhayes.
The sign at the end of the road points in the opposite direction!

Porlock is on the A59 Atlantic Highway so a great drive for a MoHo, as long as you have the power to get up Porlock Hill (the steepest A road in England)
Personally we pay £5 to take the toll road, far more scenic, less steep, but still some Alpine hairpins

Porlock:

Sparkhays Camping is to the RIGHT
(There is no campsite half a mile to the left)

If you follow the signs you have to go down Sparkhays lane, which is OK for a camper van, a tight squeeze for a motorhome, and very difficult for a caravan (a 8m plus MoHo or Caravan would probably get stuck!)

Check out Lynmouth Holiday Resort. Stayed last week in storm Francis.
Very clean and tidy. Fully serviced pitches. Pub 100 yards.

Yes, definitely want to go down Meadowhayes, not Sparkhayes! There is a caravan site as well, to the left, but I think it might be statics only these days. On the roads to the west, make sure you know how to drive down long steep slopes. Seen several cars with brakes literally on fire as they descend at 50mph for several miles in 6th with brakes full on.

This is Porlock Hill. I drove up last year in my 25yrs old automatic m/h. At some places it's so steep that you can't see the road directly ahead when going up. My main concern was whether, if the engine stalled, I'd be able to hold it on the brakes without the servo assistance, or with it come to that.

Be sure to go on the water powered lift from Lynton up to Lynmouth town

I parked overnight on the Lynton sea front road at the bottom of the cliffs below Lynmouth. There is a big car park without height barriers 50 yds from where I'm parked but not sure about overnighting there.

In the car park at 6.30 a.m. supplying coffee and bacon sarnies to 40 participants at the end of a 240 mile all night classic motorbike trial.

The car park in Lynmouth has three spaces dedicated for Campervans, but there is a sign right next to the spaces which states no overnights sleeping.
the road along the sea front is currently barriered off for Covid restrictions
Ah, forget that then. :(

Porlock Hill is not so bad. I've done it many times in a fully loaded 4.3t 17 seater minibus with 115bhp. I might even have done it towing a 3 tonne trailer as well, but we might have paid the toll that time. Pretty sure it wouldn't have been a problem if we hadn't. It's not the Hardknott Pass.
