Be a bit cold and wet then I am afraid,,Sorry to tell you.Not many sites open.BUSBY.

On a positive note there is lots to see and do in Normandy.
I’m sure you’ve got your own list but Giverney
Les Andelys
Lyons-la-Forêt
Honfleur
Rouen
would all be on my list.
If you’re prepared for the weather you might just be surprised. Last February we had 3 lovely days in Torridon followed by another couple of glorious days in North Berwick. Fingers crossed you have a lovely time.

Agree,,much prefer Normandy to Brittany..BUSBY.

Don't forget the landing beaches. Great museums at many of them and lots of free aires. If you are landing at Cherbourg, Mont St Michel is close and is well worth a visit too.

Indoor visits would be handy......it depends what interests you. The Bayeux tapestry at the museum in err,........Bayeux.
William the Conqueror's Castle at Falaise?

 Les Andelys (170 miles) is just remains of castle walls, Rouen (150 miles) is interestingly medieval but both are a bit of a trek from Cherbourg, especially as it'll be dark by 6p.m. for doing outdoor stuff.

I guess it depends what the OP is looking for.

In 8 days I’d be happy to travel round Normandy and those distances wouldn’t phase me. But we went from Scotland to the South of France and back in 14 days in October and had a great time. Saying that, we did find the short days had more of an impact than we anticipated.

the DK backroads book has good ideas too for various areas but haven’t checked out Normandy.

I do wonder if a couple of larger towns and cities wouldn’t be a bad idea as there should be more places open at that time of year. Caen?

Fantastic
I wish I was going as I love Normandy.
Hornfleur is nice and Deauville looked good but we couldn’t get in at the small Aire.
My main interest there are the beach landings sites and Bayeux. So much to see.
As others have mentioned, some sites maybe closed in Feb and some Aires may have water off so plan your stays and take your sea sick pills - but it will be worth it!

Another (y) for Bayeux and there's a nice municipal campsite there that might be open.

Mick

i know the missus wants to visit the gardens at Eteret and we will probably pick our way along the coast - as we love beaches rain or shine (as long as there's a bar nearby) , honfluer in on the list as is aramanche, point du hoc, etc - liking the diea of Falaise especially as we can park there

Lots of free aires, may have trouble getting water as they turn them off in winter to stop freezing.

Check out garages or supermarket garages for taps. Take a watering can or other water container to fill up as well.

Lots of supermarkets have 24 hr laudramat in the carpark, if you need to do washing, about 3 euros, soap included!

We used to get the ferry to Cherbourg with the kids and travel straight on without stopping. A couple of years ago we spent a few days there and really enjoyed it. I think at this time of year some things are closed.
The Cite de la mer museum ( open all year I think) was one of the better ones we've been to, with a nuclear submarine amongst various attractions. There was a large motorhome/ car park just outside which I think was free.

love your destination map, very useful

Enjoy wherever you wander when you get going but most importantly post lots of pics on here so we can enjoy being there in mind if not in person.

The first few pages on this of our recent trip in northern France might give you a few ideas.

And then post #39 onwards on this one:

Enjoy the trip. :)

Don't forget the museum next to the port of Cherbourg. There's aire type parking next door and a walk around the French nuclear submarine is a great experience... Shameless plug too... Friend of mine owns the new wine merchants there, same as the one in Roscoff with the red bus.

Sorry, its a reference to the CamperContact (CC) website or in my case their app. If you have a smartphone or tablet search for "All motorhome parkings" in the play store.

It costs about £5 a year and there are other apps available, such as Search4Sites and Park4Night. I prefer CC but the other sites have their supporters. In February you will need to find aires and these apps will do the job. :)

Ah I have that App already , just go to work out how to put in the CC reference. - and I’m a director of a computer company :-)

If you do take in the Normandy landings sites, may I suggest Major & Mrs Holt’s pocket guide to D day. It’s a small book costs around £8 and worth every penny if that sort of thing floats your boat. It’s even got suggested tours with directions, journey times and site brief history.

Normandy and no one has mentioned CALVADOS........and its part of your 5/day!!!!??

Tough life, being a director, but surely there's someone in the firm who knows what they're doing. ;)
You reminded me of many years ago when I used to call at an electrical wholesaler in Blackpool (H.B. Litherland). On the Trade counter there was a sign:
'Do you really want to speak to the Boss
or to someone who actually knows
what's going on around here?'

Don't forget Le Touquet the aires are free in winter, but no water or electric just make sure the beach race is not on (or is on) depending on your sport

If you are passing then Port en Bessin is lovely. The resturant at the end of Omaha beach does a nice beer and crepe brûlée. The 360 museum at Arromances is a real emotional journey but you can recover with some pretty decent ice cream or Tarte de Normandy ?
