First post as I've just signed up.
My Shurflo water pump vibrates right through the van when running.
Internet wisdom seems to suggest a Shurflo silencing system from America for about £70.
Anyone know of a more sensible suggestion?
Standard food-grade hose, perhaps

Surge damper from any decent caravan / motorhome retailer shop or Amazon would help as would flexible hose, even the semi rigid hose so long as there is play. You could also remove the pump and place a cut piece of silicone placemat or similar material between it and whatever its attached to when re firing it. Other than that, is the pump coming to the end of it's life.

Ours is also very noisy, thankfully, I'd hate to have it running without me knowing about it.

On ours we were told to drain the alde heating boiler and refill it. This cured the vibration on ours.

Glue four of these to the floor then fix a small squar of plywood to them
Fix the pump to the ply.

If the hard plastic hoses touch any woodwork near the pump you will still get noise so needs flexible pipes.
You will always get a little noise due to the pump design.

Check it is the pump that is noisy not the pipe work to and from it.

I originally thought my pump was getting noisy and on it's last legs, so I bought a replacement then found most of the noise was the pipes rattling on a bulkhead they passed through - a bit of sponge padding and it was reduced to an acceptable level i.e. could hear it but not intrusive. The "new" pump I screwed to the floor next to the old ready to do a quick swap if it became necessary.
That was 10 years ago!

Another option is to change the the 3 chamber pump for a 4 chamber one they are a lot quieter but not much change out of £200.

Good point! Mine is very noisy too, sounds like a (distant) pneumatic drill, or a not so distant helicopter. I was about to post about it. :)
