Carthago ELine 2021. For the first longish trip we can hear a fan like noise from the n/s dash. It stops then starts again even when everything is off and the keys are out. The media button is off and we are parked up. Any thoughts please.

Is it the engine cooling fan? They can keep running when ign is off.

DPF regeneration?
Don't think so with no engine running. Kit relys on additional burn heat through the exhaust which would stop as soon as engine stops.
It does sound like the engine cooling fans.
For the op does it stop as the engine temperature drops.

Must be four hamsters on a running wheel keeping the battery topped up.😂😂😂

Sounds like the engine fan, if it is it will be quite loud and obvious outside the van.

If it's not the engine cooling fan it could perhaps be the media system cooling fan.
Ours runs after switch off, and more worryingly occasionally seems to start running when we turn the battery charger on!
Fitted a kill switch to completely isolate the media unit.

DPF regeneration continues for several minutes on my Golf after engine switch off, just sounds as if the cooling fan is running quite fast.

Same on my neighbours Phaeton, when only a few months old it once kept on for over 10 minutes after switching off.
Seems it's like Magnus Magnussen. . ."I've started, so I'l finish"

Not the cooling fan, it’s not that loud. It’s very intermittent runs for a while, then stops, even when parked for the night it seems to be on and off. we thought it was linked to the media switch, but it comes on when everything is switched off. im a bit worried about it flattening the engine battery when we are parked. When we park up tonight I will check the discharge on the batteries.

Thanks everyone, we have been parked at Chateuneuf sur Sarthe for a couple of hours without a murmur. We are in the CampingCars site so won’t be using the Media button as no signal for tv. If it doesn’t make noises tonight then we will get someone to put a kill switch on the Pioneer. I need one anyway to stop that stupid woman in The sat nav talking whilst I’m listening to Pop Master. I don’t use a Sat Nav but I can’t turn it off when the radio is on.
