While packing van ( Bessacar 410) before 1st outing I have noticed that after years of caravan stability it is slightly unnerving how ‘wobbly’ it is not having wind down steadies. Don’t want to start carrying bottle jacks or similar has any advice to ease it or do I just by some Quells travel pills ??

dependant on you chassis is is possible to fit corner steadies on the rear..... just dont drive off with them still down!!! yes i have seen that......

Yes - they vary in design but best bolted to chassis and wind up and down with an elecftric drill or manual long handled tool.

We have steadies but they only get used when in one place for any length of time. They are quite handy in the storms we get nowadays.
Touring France we don’t bother with them.
Hubby uses a cranked handle to wind ours up/down and then handle sits over the driving pedals, that way you don’t forget!

Use my steadies most times. Only takes a couple of mins to deploy, or put away. Mine have a fail safe mech if you drive off forward.
I also put the brace across the pedals when the steadies are down, so can’t drive with it in place and steadies down.

Hydraulic Self levelling Jacks?. For steady? "the only way to go" (y) Pull up, hit control, go make tea (or open beer).

Never used steadies. I love it when it gets windy and knocks the van around a bit.

However, I suspect if there were two people in my van I would quickly get irritated with the van moving when the other person got up to go to the loo in the night.

Note for Rapido Owners. The steady`s are set side ways just behind or in front of the rear wheel. serious damage especially to Alko chassis can occur IF you forget them.
