my autotrail 634 is 2017, and im bemused.. i cannot find sidelights, the lights go from OFF to HEADLIGHT - what happened to sidelights ? what dont i know ?

I would expect that age vehicle to have DRL’s and suspect the previous owner didn’t like them and pulled the fuse

or the fuse has just gone maybe

2017 Ducato will have DRL when ignition on but front only no rear. Only 2 positions on switch, front DRL is 1 headlight plus rear on number 2. It can be reprogrammed.

yes running lights i have, but i wondered why remove side lights, i want to put a rear camera and take power off the rear sidelights, so a live back light is needed , how do i reprogram the lights ?

So if you park and wanted to leave lights on in the dark for safety , without leaving the engine running you would have no rear light option ?

it does seem an odd omission

Put the fuse back and take the bulbs out😀

If you have had the headlights on turn off the ignition then turn the lights off, now turn them back on and you will find your sidelights are on.

Side lights are a legal requirement as vehicles parked on a road outside a 30 limit must show all four sidelights on. Also for vans and Motorhomes over 2500kg gross if parked on a road at night even in a 30 limit all 4 sidelights must be on.

blow me he is right .. that works. but... what i WANT to do is drive along on my sidelights so my new rear camera comes on and i can see behind me as i drive along - ideas ? short of always driving with headlights on of course.

Put the camera on a separte fused ignition switch live supply.
