We've got a Bailey AA745 with Alde heating, we've had it 3 years now. Just arrived at the first site if this trip - on electric, heating works fine but water is freezing. Plenty of water in the tank and the water is set on the medium setting, although I've also tried it on max. Any ideas?

But it shouldn’t matter we get hot water by default if Alde turned on even without heating which is controlled by thermostat only

What do you class as medium, we don’t have that on ours
On the control panel alongside the shower symbol you can have it either on 0, 1 bar or full bars. Called it medium cos wasn't sure what else to call it sorry!

Yes we usually do, this is the first time in three years this has happened

In that case I have peaked

Hope someone else can pick it up from here

Other than try on gas

try it on gas as it may be the element

?? Why when rain stops ??

Just switch off electric, or do you have your gas turned off ? How do you cook?
Oops sorry I forgot you didn't know - we've got an underslung gas tank and we travel with the gas off. Tap is underneath the van.

Hubby kindly volunteered to brave the rain so have now tried it on gas and yes it does now work. Assuming it is the electric element then, any idea if how big a job (and costly) a replacement will be?

Have you tried a panel reset?
It now works on gas, but I was just wondering about doing a reset anyway. I don't understand the mechanics of the system so don't know if that will help or if it is indeed the element, but presumably a reset wouldn't hurt. The van has been in the workshop this week having a damp issue sorted and I know they ran the heating on high to dry it out so I guess it's possible they changed a setting somewhere.

Yes there is but that only works if the outside valve is already turned on.
Yes that is the whole point why are you turning it off at the tank that really isn’t necessary the tap in the van should be the one to turn off . :)

They might have put it on test which runs the heating constantly.

A panel reset would switch it back if you don’t know where the setting is.

On my Allde panel I have set mine so the water does not heat up over night to save gas and then warms up before we wake up. when you go in to app’s for daytime and night time you have a button with a shower symbol in the bottom left corner to turn off the water heater.

It makes sense that they would run it on electric in the workshop and if they were heating van then no point running water heater as well.

On my panel from main menu there is an A button from there it displays a night and day symbol which you press again for time and heat settings.

Worth a try, mine is the 3020 HE

Button needs to be green for water to heat

I know, I know, but I'm paranoid and I just feel safer when travelling if the gas is turned off at the tank. Plus I'm not usually the one who goes out to turn it on and off ?

Good morning all and thanks for your help so far. I've just noticed that there is no icon in the Alde control panel to show electric connection, which makes me wonder if I was dreaming when I said the heating was working on electric! Or maybe it was working when I felt the rads but when I later checked the water and it was cold then sometime in between something had gone wrong. Anyway, different problem now - everything else in the van works fine on the electric connection but for some reason no power is getting to Alde. Any ideas on this one? A fuse somewhere?? All the electric fused are up and there's a good 16 amp supply here.

I would have thought the 240v supply for the boiler should go through a trip switch somewhere.

Switch like this near the boiler?

What do you mean by "everything else in the van works fine". Most of the van electrics are 12V and work from the battery. Are you sure you are getting 240V through to the van? Is the fridge on 240V at present? Have you tried plugging a 240v appliance in to see if it is working?
