There is no Ariel on the MH I hope to buy. Is it hard to fit one? Is it worth doing myself or getting the professionals to do it?

If you're a confident DIYer they are easy enough to fit.
If you have ANY doubts, have it fitted.
You only get one shot then it's either successful or you have a hole in the roof to repair.

If you decide to have a go.... Measure THREE times, stand back and look then measure again, drill once.

Just noticed you haven't bought yet...... Get the dealer to do it... Preferably as part of the deal.

12v Avtex ariel - just put out of a side or roof window - no drilling/fitting - excellent reception. Inexpensive. Often will work just put up inside the van.
The catch on the suckers often fail - but easy to find other ways of securing.

Ok thank you. It's a private sale but I won't attempt to fit it, I think. Like the idea of a temporary one except the cable when it's raining thru the open window hmmm

It's possible to buy flat coax cable for that purpose.
Short length with a connector on each end.
Please don't ask where from.... Its many years ago since I bought one.

Just looked on eBay... Dozens around a fiver.

Thank you I'll take a look, great solution.:)

We've got a couple of the flat cables from Amazon. Work well.
