Many of you will have heard of Nick Cave, many will have his albums but I was wondering how many may follow his writings in the Red Hand Files

In case you have not here are his Red Hand files hope you enjoy reading them as much as I do

Yes, the Red Hand Files make interesting reading. We were looking forward to seeing him on tour with the Bad Seeds in May but sadly cancelled for now.

His latest album Ghosteen is an absolute triumph and the last track will transport you to a better place than this one. Listen and enjoy: one of the best melancholic albums ever!!

Part of the process for the songwriter is to stay alert to the nature of their own wounds without indulging them, to gravitate towards happiness when possible, to venture beyond convention and acceptability without losing oneself, to understand that our most treasured beliefs exist on the far side of what we think we know, and to go there cautiously, yet fearlessly and, perhaps most importantly of all, to remember to return.

Yes it is truly a great album and Hollywood is fantastic. It did alienate a number of fans though. I listened to the streaming preview and there were quite a lot of people who were disappointed. I am not quite sure what they were expecting since it made sense in the light of recent albums and events.

I thought Nick's response to a question asking about losing old fans to be very interesting and well-considered. I have quoted part of it below. I think it is worth reading the whole response on Red Right Hand.

"With each new record, almost inevitably some fans will move on. I can only say that I am truly grateful to have been a part of their journey, and that they have been part of ours. In the end, to challenge our fans is to love them, even if it means losing them. "

Nick Cave streamed his Idiot Prayer concert from Alexandra Palace last week and is now available on You tube: Well it was available but now blocked :(

But a couple of clips:

He was asked a question about the Piano he played and he has responded to the question in his Red Hand files
