It appears that the NHS app wasn't configured to enable it to show proof of the booster jab and it therefore is not shown on the covid pass. We have a trip booked to France in December and unless I'm reading this wrong I think that it would mean our vaccine pass will have run out. Apparently the card showing you have had the booster is not sufficient it has to be a Q code. From Dec 15th over 65s without booster jabs (or in the case of UK citizens not able to prove they're jabbed) will not be allowed in numerous French venues, restaurants etc.
Our department of health is monitoring the situation. Well we'll all breath a big sigh of relief there then!!

I enquired about this when I also noticed the booster wasn't recorded.

I was told that Internationally the foreign countries were happy? to accept the evidence of the QR code on the NHS App.

However, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Mr Macaroons(sic) Gov. ploughed their own lonely furrow.

We have the same problem, even asked the person who stuck the booster needle in my arm to check that it had been entered on the database which it had.

Mine has two QR codes.

Doesn't include the QR code but if you go onto you NHS app (not the NHS Covid app) > view your GP health record> consultations and events the booster information date and issue to your doctors practice is itemised there. However not sure without the QR code it will be sufficient or not.

I came across the same problem being on a Covid vaccine trial. I had 2 shots of Novavax last year which eventually turned up on the NHS App. Unfortunately Novavax is not yet recognised by Europe so I could not travel. My Doctor arranged for me to have a Pfizer booster because my last jab was a year ago but this did not show on the App. The Government then decided that those of us on the trial should be given 2 Pfizer jabs so that we can travel. The GP surgery then changed the status of my Pfizer booster jab from a booster to a vaccination, which then appeared on the App and pushed the first Novavax injection off. When I have my second Pfizer jab it will push the other Novavax one off too.

As Linda and Steph say it is not the fault of the NHS. They had the App foisted on them by Dept. of Health.

Why do people create new threads rather than add to an existing one? The discussion here had already been discussing this, and there’s an awful lot of duplication - it’s not as though the header is unclear!

Novavax final filing has been submitted to MHRA in the last few days and the vaccination is awaiting approval. Hopefully there’ll be no need for a second Pfizer (Comirnaty) as the first will be classed as a booster.

I don’t think you can blame the NHS or the Govt really. When we started giving the jabs no-one had any idea that we were going to need boosters and certainly not so quickly after the Primary course of two jabs. Everyone was just desperate to get it into peoples arms to stop people dying, no-one was really thinking about how inconvenient it might be down the line for holidays. The travel pass looked like it was working very well. The advice regarding Boosters and who is getting them is changing so rapidly.

Hopefully the software can soon be updated to allow the booster to be added to the pass but it’s on your records somewhere for goodness sake.

I do feel for people like Pausim however who had the Novavax which is a good vaccine and has just struggled to get approval at the final hurdle for no good reason. I was working on Wednesday in a vaccination clinic with one of the Doctors who was involved in the clinical trials funnily enough. We should all be very grateful to the thousands of people like Pausim who volunteered for these vaccine trials who really didn’t know what they were letting themselves in for .

We haven’t been sent any of the cards to hand out with the last two Covid deliveries and we’ve never had those nice little stickers that pappajohn has. They’re snazzy. At the first clinic when people were asking about them our chief nurse who is quite forceful (bossy) just raised her hands and shouted “Boris is saving the planet”!

I suppose it's true enough that the vaccines primary aim wasn't to let people go on holiday. I did think at the time that maybe there ought to be a charge for the travel pass app. But I would like my ski trip.

I reported this issue on Motorhome Chat on Thursday.

On the “one and only Covid virus thread” I have posted e-mails that I sent to my Westminster MP and two of my Welsh Assembly Members regarding the issues, together with their initial replies.

The requirement to prove three vaccinations may well spread to other countries, and/or, France, who are introducing the three jab requirement for restaurants and bars from 15th December may eventually decide that three jabs are required for entry to their country.

I would recommend that anyone who may be affected by the lack of proof of a third jab on the NHS QR code should, if they have the time, send similar e-mails to raise the issue wither relevant political representatives.

We are heading to Spain on 29th December and, if we cannot prove our third vaccination we will be unable to enter any restaurant or bar during our trip down through France.

The link says: "The development team includes product managers & designers, software architects and developers, security experts, testers and support staff."

It's the job of the product designer and the software architect to anticipate simple things like this, that's what they are paid no doubt extremely good money to do. Most likely they did, and the person with the money to pay them told them to exclude it from the requirements list.

I think it may be worse than just no booster being shown on the app - my covid Travel Pass (QR Codes 2 off for jabs 1 and 2) states that they expire on December 13th 2021?

I had no idea that they expired at all.

We will be through the tunnel by 20th Nov in any case and will worry about the renewal of the QR Codes when we are away (Spain mainly).

I think they always expired after 28 days - but every time you generate a code via the NHS app it updates. Not sure if the systems in France, Spain etc reject a bar code older than 28 days old (presumably anyone who spent more than 28 days there with a single printed pass would know this?)

But when we spent 5 weeks in France we simply generated a new set of codes on the app halfway through the time, and reimported them into the TousAntiCovid app. Worked fine, but easier if you have both a tablet and a phone.

We didn't even get given a little card after our boosters.
As I said in my post, they are no longer being supplied. They were sent out with the early batches but not with the newer batches so it will depend which batch you get yours from.

They expire after one month, that’s always been the case, just download it again and it will be a month from the date you download it, just the way it’s been set up. Goodness knows why!

I got the little card after my booster last week.

IanRJ - every time you check on your vaccination QR code it will update. So when you are away you can just look at it again via the app and the date will have moved on. It’s one reason I didn’t print mine when going to France!

EDIT - was typing as Carolyn posted!!

We did print ours and send them in an email to each other and put them on a shared drive on the cloud. Best to cover as many bases as possible!. Then after a month redo all the electronic versions.

We‘re giving them out! Come to Exeter!

I was on Novavax too and had my shots last November. Had my Pfizer booster at the end of my vaccination shift last night. Got a card. Will also be on my NHS record so possible to view via the NHS app if ever needed.

BTW, we also have funky stickers at Exeter, so all the more reason to walk in with us!

Well now I feel very deprived, we gave 1698 on Wednesday and not a single card or funky sticker. Mind you a lovely lady who had her jab in the morning brought us back an enormous yummy homemade cake in the afternoon!
