Hi all ,,,, Getting ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe in a couple of weeks. Need to book in at 08:00 hrs. on the Sunday morning and do not fancy driving through the night to get there so looking at going down Saturday afternoon.
Been looking for camp sites within a couple of miles of Newhaven and not found anything , can any one recommend somewhere to stay the night close to Newhaven or even in Newhaven it self if there is somewhere safe to park up for the night

What about at the port itself?

There is a small carpark on the right just as you turn left into the port, by the café/terminal building. In the past we have stopped there at night with no problems.

You could try Brighton caravan club sheepcote valley about 15/20 minutes to newhaven
Gary.

No problem parking in the ferry terminal and the cafe is good.BUSBY:BigGrin:

Join 'Britstops' (look at website) two participating pubs just 5 minutes from Port. It will cost you about £25ish to join and you have the benefits for a year! Numerous free or nominal sum nationwide stopovers! Number one 'Telscombe Tavern' at Peacehaven on the A259 coast road and overlooking the sea, ideal for a meal or 'The Golden Galleon' Seaford nice place. Check if you have a meal or drink it could be a free pitch enjoy your trip.

Can be good but the price of the meal can work out more than a campsite ! Especially if you didn't intend to eat out anyway !

Just checked my Britstop book . . . not necessary . . . a meal or anything. It does say I quote: Britstop hosts are happy for you to stay the night at NO COST, but as they are providing you with a FREE stopover it's only fair to take a look at what they offer.
We live just down the road, yes, you can park up on port but its not a very nice place although you can't get any closer to your check-in!

Maybe it is just me but I would feel guilty not buying a meal if using the parking. Last time we did that it cost us £30 !! So not a cheap overnighter :Eeek:

Not sure what it is like and don't have a link but there is The Buckle campsite at seaford. About 5 minutes away from the port. Think it is on UK campsites.:thumb:
