I'm a newbie
Hiya, We are new to this and collecting our 2019 Adria Matrix Axess 590 ST on monday and a bit apprehensive. We have been promised a comprehensive handover and are staying in a site overnight just up the road from the dealer so if we discover anything that we don't understand or does not work we can go back to the dealer the next morning. Most grateful for anything in particular to look out for/ask during the handover. I have compiled a list of silly question but am worried that my ignorance and non tech background will mean that I will miss the obvious. Thanks in anticipation..

Greetings peeps

Try to get as many manuals as you can.
Check the status of all batteries. Mine had to be replaced engine 1at dealers cost leisure at my cost I left a switch on and it killed my leisure batteries. Takes a list of questions with you don’t be afraid to ask and make notes. Good luck with handover.

Hi Sticky Biscuit - Been in the same spot as you and completely understand...we went straight to motorhoming never having camped or used a caravan so even lots of the common terminology was an initial barrier to us. I don't know who your dealer is but if they have promised you a full handover (and so they should) then take them at their word and make sure it is done at your pace and convenience and not theirs. We did the iPhone filming thing as Janine suggested...especially for things like heating controls/programming, boiler draindown, anything to do with the gas system and even the cassette toilet operation. Whilst one of us was filming and talking the other was making copious notes. Staying on the nearby campsite is a good idea and if it were me I would make sure to return to the dealer the following day with some problems...real or fictional, so that you can get another run down of certain aspects. Above all...enjoy it...an exciting event! Even if you don't come away feeling 100% positive about all aspects we have found the advice on this forum to be worth its weight in gold.

Make sure you get an EHU cable from the dealer, and a full gas bottle.

Bring a 230v electric heater for your first night in case you can't get the Truma blown air heating to work. The instructions in the handbook are not the easiest to follow. That was my experience and we were glad we took a fan heater with us for the first night.

Good luck! Hope it all goes well.

Thank you for that advice....which prompts me to ask another 'daft' question.... Presumably a 230V heater will not fuze the electrics...?

If the site has at least a 10A hook-up bollard (most are 16A) you should be OK running a 2 Kw heater from the mains socket in the MH.

If you already have a suitable heater then by all means use that. If you are buying one for this purpose, a small fan heater, 500 to 1000 watts, will be better than a 2kW one. A motorhome is quite small, and soon heats up even with a heater of less than 1000 watts. It's more useful in that you can use it on a site with 6 amp hookup.

Obviously avoid using radiant heaters in a small space with wood and foam.

And so much to take in, remember the only silly question, is the one you don't ask, for us we/ me, worried about expense of storage, insurance, new tyres, blah blah, anything you need to ask? Someone on here is always kind enough to give advice, Enjoy

Having picked up our first one in October, we had a good handover, very methodical, started with the outside, bonnet, batteries, opened all the lockers, EHU flap, water etc etc. Then the inside every cupboard, catch, switch, roof light blind etc. The guy showed us how it worked and then let me do the same, very useful with the heating and awning. Gave us all the manuals and paperwork, there was loads of it!! There is no such thing as a silly question, you've spent a lot on money and if they want your recommendation/repeat business they will spend all the time you need so you go away confident and happy
