I'm a newbie
Hi to everyone and thank you for adding me, looking forward to many Motor home adventures. Bought an Autotrail Mohican after many years of caravaninng and have a couple of elec bits I'm not sure about. Firstly an elec box in cupboard marked SR12M WITH A 3 way switch marked Eng and Aug and two lights green amber and red. I think it switches between leisure bat and engine bat? Does this mean if leisure bat is low I can switch to engine battery and run engine? Also is the middle position off? Which position when travelling? Finally there is a switch in glove box labelled loop on/loop off. Any ideas. Sorry to be so long winded but worried about damaging the elec system. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance Richard.

In our MH, yes that controller switch is VEH or AUX when the rocker switch is tilted either way.
When it’s flat the MH is isolated.
On our UK van we are draining the VEH car battery as having the ignition on also isolates the MH electrics.

edit. Oh! I don’t know about the loop thing.

Hi and welcome to the loony bin.. Not 100% sure on the SR12 box , but the loop is connected to the alarm,,, somewhere on the outside of the van will be a place you can plug in a loop of wire which can be put round a push bike or similar... if the wire is broken or unplugged the alarm will go off

There’s more. Not much!,
I mentioned that our MH is UK built because how the MH electricals work tends to have a UK v RoW spilt about what electrical habitat things should be doing when the MH has the engine running.
UK build - no habitat power. Inc. gas
RoW build - all power options available. We’re all adults & can decide our own fate
