eight years in theory, a newby in practice!!!
We'll soon be coming to the first anniversary of buying our new MH and have just booked it's first hab service which is necessary to keep the warranty valid.
I got thinking the other day about the warranty. A month or so ago we had a E&P self levelling kit fitted by S.A.P at Doncaster, I was wondering if that would invalidate the warranty?
Has anyone had work done professionally that has invalidated their 'vans warranty?

I would say that is just an accessory & shouldn’t interfere with warranty

We've just taken out an extended warranty on our vehicle which covers everything which is factory fitted. Our E&P levelling system is factory fitted so will be OK. I guess that having a system retro-fitted wouldn't be covered by the extended warranty but I wouldn't think it would invalidate the warranty.

Here's hoping:pray:
Never gave it a thought. Just like insurance companies and the like trying to wriggle out of a claim;)

I'd give them a call and find out from them direct if it sets your mind at rest.

Davy, there's a number of bits n' bobs which are no longer covered in the Elddis Warranty once the van reaches 12-months old so be sure to be familiar with them. That said, I don't think an E&P system will effect the Fiat bit.

Thanks Andrew I'll check that out(y)

You'll be OK sir but I am still envious of your new system
It works great, it was my wife's idea .... honest. It had caused a little bit of friction trying to get level on the ramps!
Anything that reduces stress must be a good thing:whistle:

Your warranty will be unaffected as it is an aftersales accessory fitted by qualified people.
Many motorhomes have many extras fitted by the dealer and it doesn't affect the warranty.

Enjoy:dance2:

Not professionally ... but by myself.. my dealer that i got my van through told me that by fitting a reversing camera ..and solar panels or any work that involved access through the shell of the van would invalidate my warranty ...
I ignored it and decided to just get on and do the work i wanted doing..
Deciding to argue the toss about cause if and when it happened and i had an issue.. it hasn't yet.
Chausson give a 7 yr water ingress warranty, but it appears to be conditional on having a hab check done by one of their authorised dealers..needless to say they charge over £200 or so for said check so to keep that warranty you have to pay someone to do all the work that they deem would invalidate a warranty and a dealer a furthur £1500 or more to do hab checks over the 7 year period of the water ingress warranty... I passed on that offer as well :D

Andy..

My slant on it is anything fitted aftermarket which doesn't affect the original body or fitments has no affect on warranty.

IE: fit an awning and the wall leaks at the awning fixing points then the warranty won't cover it but will cover the rest of the body.
Drill a hole in the roof for solar etc and it leaks then as above.
The only way they could invalidate the whole warranty would be by not having things like routine services and hab checks etc.
