camping and caravanning since a kid. New to motorhomes
Well folks finally collected my first new to me van. A 2017 Bailey autograph 75-2. Bought it from Simon allen-kerr

Had had a couple of bad experiences with other dealers in trying to secure my first van so turned to Simon, based on his presence on this wonderful forum.

I will publish a more detailed assessment and review when I get home. Yes travelled 400 miles each way to collect.

However in the meantime I must say that Simon and his team are first rate. Nothing was too much trouble. It could have been smoother but they handled everything I threw at them with care, commitment and an incredible degree of professionalism.

Was it perfect - no
Would I buy another van of him - hell yes, in a heartbeat
Would I recommend - what do you think ? Of course I would.

Lovely bloke, straight to the point but welcoming and a thoroughly nice bloke to boot.

He has put together great caring team, including his much better half ( sorry mate but she is a star)

Thank you and everyone I met today.[/USER]

Absolute pleasure and thank you for choosing me! Really enjoyed the pub and having a beer after work! Great bloke to deal with. Slightly annoyed with the Nat-Alan Kerr comments, I am far better πŸ˜‚

How was the first night?

Hi Simon

Well as you would expect didn’t get much sleep as playing with the van a bit.
Also got my report done so that is a relief.

Well chuffed with the van.

The site is really good would highly recommend and of course the bar is well stocked. Company last night was great with your good self, Rob and your better half. Thank you for that.

By the way the food here is extremely good.

I too have recently bought a new (to me) van from Simon-Alan Kerr. I concur with all your positives, and although I did not get to meet Simon personally, he did follow up with a phone call and messages to make sure I was a happy chappy with my purchase. That was a personal touch I have not experienced from other dealers. (y)

Having concluded business with Simon and his team I can testify to the above statement.
Likewise, Simons brother Ash at Vanbitz also gives the highest standard of professionalism in his chosen trade. I have not had the pleasure of meeting their other brother who recently started his own dealership, but by all reports, he too maintains the same high business ethics so rarely given today.
A tribute to the quality of their upbringing and background.
However, like us mear mortals, these brothers do have a flaw ! - - -
The live and work DOWN SOUTH !!!
”Move NORTH my sons, - - - You know it makes sense !!!”

Totally agree with that. Just got home. A good 410 mile drive it turned out to be. Despite numerous hold ups and accidents come across coupled with the fuel protesters, made good timing. Left this morning around 9 and got home 6:30.

Van drove brilliant.

Now if they opened a dealership up here am sure would be another success

Ayup BikerGraham,
Pleased you had a good journey back home in your new Motorhome. I wish you many miles of
trouble-free travels in your recent purchase. Enjoy it, as I am sure you will. Obviously I do not know what security your vehicle has, nor do I need to know, but some form of security you will need. Sadly that is a fact. For any form of security devices that require fitting I highly recommend a visit to Vanbitz of Taunton. Yes, another long journey South, but believe me your time would not be wasted.
Just read the reviews on here about this excellent company. Not cheap mind, but worth every penny for peace of mind. (As a member of this forum you get a discount if you mention this at the time of booking.)
And you could always combine your visit with a few days stay at their outstanding site, Cornish Farm.
Happy travels. πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

Thanks yorkshirelad175 am looking forward to a new chapter in life mate.

Just had a cat 1 alarm and S5 tracker fitted to it. So it’s well covered but I appreciate your valued advice and agree with the feedback about Vanbitz.

It appears that when out on a night of merriment with a recent customer, too much Newcastle Brown Ale was consumed. Leave Gods own County to live down South ? I’ll give you ten out of ten for your comedy ! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
