It's not a mistake, they don't know the make. Comes back as MIA unknown on the mot check page.

Removed my post due to not reading the previous post properly! Duh!!

If that’s the case how is that my old 19 plate Pilote coachbuilt has Fiat as the vehicle manufacturer
The manufacturer must have told DVLA the make. Where as on yours they slipped up.. Maybe

DVLA go by what you put on the V55, I put Hymer on mine and the V5 came back with Hymer on it.

Dealer would have submitted the v55 unless they’ve made a mistake
Been in contact with DVLA via the phone this morning and they are looking into it
Seem to think it’s a type error

The MOT data (and therefore webpage) is populated from DVLA data, so it reflects the information DVLA hold, which is on the V5.

D.1: Make MIA, D.3: Model <blank>

Therefore make MIA, Model unknown.

If DVLA make a mistake on data entry, it will also appear in the MOT data and other databases that use the same information source. The mistake either occurred on the original registration paperwork or online submission, or when DVLA transferred the data to their systems. DVLA have a list of designated makes and models that they select for registration input. Anything that is not on the list has to be input manually, but MIA is a recognised vehicle make, which was produced in France, suggesting that someone has pressed a wrong key by mistake during data entry onto the system.

Take a picture of the van with its make visible, preferably with the registration number in the pic and send it with the V5 back for amendment!

At the moment anyone might think you've got a Kia misspelt as a Mia!

As long as the VIN is correct on the V5 and the first three letters are ZFA, that will be more than sufficient for DVLA to recognise the error. We would normally have recommended returning the V5 to DVLA with the correct details entered on the change of vehicle particulars section, together with a covering letter, but as the OP has already be in contact by phone that may be enough to sort it out. I'm sure they will tell him if they need anything else.

Perhaps someone thought that the name 'Mia' was much nicer than Fiat or Pilote! :giggle:
