Just a reminder that the lower speed limits in Spain come into force on the 29th January, and the Spanish share information with the UK.

So basically if your 3500kg or under the same as a car motorway 120 normal road 90.
If your over 3500kg or towing a trailer motorway 90 and normal road 80
:D Bob.

I presume that means that the limit when towing a trailer or caravan has gone up from 80 to 90/80 and as it mentions 'Vehiculo articulado' that fifth wheelers are also limited to 90/80.

Yes if your towing a trailer it's 90 on motorways and 80 on normal roads unless the sign tells you different. :D
It will probably take the Spanish 10 years to alter the signs. But they are faster writing tickets.

I feel sorry for motorcyclists but I don't suppose it will slow them down. :)
Bob.

And cyclists limited to 45kph, I wonder if any other countries have limits for cyclists.

I still cant work out why coaches always have a higher limit yet they carry all those people and often seem to be involved in serious accidents. Bob.

Does this mean that the limits for motorhomes of 3500 kg or less are actually going up? My satnav usually shows a limit lower than signed (e.g. 100 where it’s signed 120). I searched online and I found somewhere official looking which seemed to confirm this.

Edit: having actually looked at your link, I see that’s exactly the case!

Looks like it.

We can now travel at 120 instead of 100.

Need a good fuel station app .

Yes, the speed limit on motorways for motorhomes under 3,500kgs went up from 100 to 120 kph at the end of December, thanks to lobbying from the Spanish autocaravana clubs.

Already altered round our neck of the woods!

The Spanish are good at doing such things.

Not so good at others though!

So now those of us who are over 3500kg have to do 30 less than the limit rather than 10.
