Interesting article in todays Sunday Times.
Apparently 56 MP's and other campaigners have petitioned Boris to scrap the 705% increase in the tax.
We shall see !
He could scrap both , save a few bob and get even more voters on his side , they would be the motorhome buying crowd who might then decide to take the plunge and buy new . Dealers happy , Motorhomes happy and all the people who may be losing their homes to HS2 happy. It’s a Win, win situation ?
There are potential plans being boiled up to help introduce wealth, home and luxury taxes so I don't think anyone will give two hoots about the luxury tax on motorhomes.......which I think is perfectly fair BTW.
Why should I have to pay the luxury taxes on our cars when a more expensive MoHo is void of such a burden.
Quite a lot that politicians do doesn't seem logical.
My van is 19 years old and I would never consider buying new and having to bear the initial massive depreciation.
The article implies that the actual tax take could decrease when all of the variables are taken into consideration including the possible job losses.
