I am about to purchase a new motorhome, and I'm completely new to the activity. It's been a steep learning curve so far.

I am happy with the spec of the MH we have chosen, and I'm trying not to get too carried away buying extras at this stage.

I am going to have the dealer fit a TV, and a 2 bike rack. I am also wondering about some type of security, possibly a tracker or alarm/immobiliser, although I can place a tracker in the vehicle myself which will work well, and I will have total control of. Any thoughts on this ?

Can anyone advise me re the TV. Without wishing to sound completely daft I'm not sure if things in this area are moving so quickly with smart TV's and dongles and wifi, that I need an aerial?
The intended use of the TV, would be in this country and Europe, to view UK TV, BBC, ITV, and possibly SKY News.
I have a Fire Stick and subscribe to Netflix and Amazon TV.
Do I need the dealer to fit TV and aerial, or can I do everything via wifi, hotspot from my phone using its data?

Is there or are there any other absolute MUST's that it would be wise for me to get from the dealer at the outset?

Many thanks in anticipation for any help you can give.

Hi and welcome, the best TVs are Avtex but not cheap but you can get other makes for a lot less.
My advice would be buy the bare essentials and take a notepad with you for the first few trips and write down what you need rather than buy a load of stuff you don’t need, we’ve all done it 😂😂

vanbitz for your alarm. for the tv .Avtex.co.uk, they make a connected tv, best TVs pricey but worth it. They also make a matching sound bar which makes the difference. I wouldn’t bother with satellite dish any more unless your going to Europe a lot.

Take the Firestick with you if you have a phone with big data that you can tether to via it's hotspot then anywhere you get a signal you'll have TV. The phone companies have no plans to introduce roaming charges in the event of a no deal exit in December. If you use tablets download the UKTV app, it's as versatile as the Firestick for regular chanels when abroad.

It's likely that insurance companies will insist on an approved tracker and it's likely that a homebrew tracker will not meet their requirements. Your insurance company may insist on an alarm and tracker being installed from the day of purchase so plan ahead if you want Vanbits to do the tracker install.
