Hi all

I’m considering fitting a new double din head unit in my 2018 Ford Transit can.

Anyone got a recommendation of which one to buy?

Ideally I’d be after:

- CarPlay (ideally wireless)
- Available fitting kit for Ford transit - supporting on-steering wheel controls
- DABS
- Not bothered about CD/DVD player
- Not bothered about inbuilt Sat Nav (but if it has it and it’s a reasonable cost then ok with that).
- High definition screen
- Major brand (not interested in cheap android based clone)

Any thoughts? .....and is this post in the right group (I didn’t see one specifically for ICE)?

Pioneer Z810 DAB-C
Thats what I have and it’s a cracking head unit. My 3rd Pioneer with Sat Nav, I like the navgate navigation.
Tried Kenwood with the Garmin but that only lasted a couple of months and i replaced it with another Pioneer.

Double din is so yesterday........ disclaimer, no offence intended to those with double din units!
I’ve personally just changed my zenec double din unit for the Alpine ilx 903d, a single din unit with a 9” floating screen and has all the features you mention at a reasonable price.
I’m really impressed and would recommend to anyone looking to change their existing unit(y)

Hi decided to replace my transit mk7 double din unit 2 years ago with a jvc dab single din radio. Purchased a ford too iso wiring harness from ebay. All went well apart from the starter batterys would go flat if left for 4 weeks. To cut a long story short, one of the following connections was incorrect on the adapter, Electric Ariel, display dimmer, steering wheel control, ford alarm.

If your mk8 has an iso connection no problem, but if it has ford connector just check all the connection.

Good luck graham

I am convinced that Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are the future. I now very rarely use the radio function, I plug my phone in and have onscreen/hands free control of phone, navigation and music. I bought one of these.
