A couple of years ago our Dometic fridge door fell off while exiting euro tunnel and we managed to bodge it with super glue and duct tape. From examination the bottom hinge had been previously repaired with superglue.
We want to do a proper fix with either a new door (do replacement doors exist?) or a replacement fridge....they seem very expensive, can reconditioned fridges be purchased?
Any help gratefully received.
p.s. MH in storage at mo so not certain of exact model of fridge/freezer but the MH is 2007.

Replacement doors exist, we had a new one after poor original fitting of the fridge had led to damage.
The front decorative panel can be put on new door.

A new door and hinge would be your best option. When you take the plastic surround off, you can slide out the wood panel and fit it in the new door.

Thanks so much, I’ll try Dometic to see if they can help

Our first van had a 7000 series fridge and the door fell off going around a roundabout, in our case no damage. The hinge pins appear to be too short I got around it by adjustment and some washers.
I would try and get or make some longer pins.
The 7000 series is obsolete and fairly certain a door will be unattainable. New fridge around £1500 and they don't fit in the same space but there is one that is slightly smaller.

Wow, such great help as always, thank you all

Yes I’ve been looking for breakers on line during lockdown but no luck so far

I completely filled both broken top and bottom hinge holes with araldite and pushed stainless repair washers into the glue.
I re-drilled new holes for the fridge pivot pins.
It never failed again after 5 years, although I was careful how much weight was put into the door.
Its worth a try - you cant make it worse. I still have some 8mm repair washers - FOC.

Pretty sure you can get the parts you need.
Not cheap, but simpler and much, much cheaper than a whole unit.
Wouldn't chance a s/h unit - you have no idea of the history.

I don’t think I want to repair the door hinge, it’s already been repaired at least twice including my bodge job but thanks for the advice.

When you say the hinge is broken/bodged, what part exactly is it? Some examples here:

The hole in the fridge door where the pivot pin fits is a plastic moulding and it just collapses by putting excess weight in the door - usually big bottles of milk or wine.

Repair washers help make a new pivot by spreading the load

I have a RM7505 for sale spares or repair (works intermittently on 240v). Both doors good. £150.

Yes it’s the plastic moulding, I’d never have know the previous owners had repaired it before if the door hadn’t flown off when I hit a pot hole in France.
