Anyone's guess, the only people to know are DVLA......and ask them 3 times you'll get 3 different answers.
My interpretation is if an average height person can stand upright it's tall enough.
I bet it returns as a 'van with windows'

😊 I suppose as its vague I can argue that as i can stand up in it with plenty of head room I’m 5’4” it’s a high top 😊

Having the body type as 'motorcaravan' is irrelevant nowadays. With supporting photographs insurers will insure as a motorcaravan. With the interior being correct etc. unless it's being used for commercial purposes the police accept that the higher speed limits apply (weight limits excepted). You may have to contest speeding tickets but I've yet to hear of any genuine case not being accepted.
Those of us in the VW world where selfbuilds are prevelent have been fighting the DVLA decisions ever since they changed policy but succeeding is almost unheard of.

So it's a panel van 👍 you just have to meet all the other criteria and convince them 😀

Our previous self build (Fiat Ducato) was re classified as a campervan and the insurance dramatically reduced 😊 i just wanted clarification if a H2 in DVLA world is classed as a high top 😊

Yes my current VW T6 was re classified OK without any problems but that was before the DVLA changed their criteria. The requirements all look simple on their website but their attitude is very different. Even professional conversion companies have the same problem when converting vehicles that are already registered.
As far as I know there is no such classification as 'high top", I've purchased high roof VW vans and they have always been normal PLG.
