Whats the new Calais Aire like?Is the restaurant close any good.Trying to decide if we get on our way to Reims or stay in Calais overnight!Usually we stay on the marina and either have a meal in Le Detroit on a pizza in the square(brilliant with great service)

Stay in the Citi of Europe. You will be safe and sound, we have stayed there about five times this year and HAVE NOT seen migrant.

We have stayed in Cite Europe and Auchan on a couple occasions this year and again not seen a single migrant. That said I cant comment on the Aire as it was still being sorted the last time we passed through.

We usually stay at Cite Europe and I agree it is very safe and quiet. But the eating out choice is pretty dire. May try the Calais Aire when we next go over and have a walk along to our all time favourite French Restaurant, La Channel on the Boulevarde de la Resistance.
