Well, I am embarrassed myself there with a story of how I haven’t even had my motorhome for 48 hours and I broke it, and how I had tried various things to no avail, pleading for help.

Tried the exact same thing for a fourth time and it fixed it! What a newbie!! 😂😂

Do you mean the key holder in the handle is stuck open? Do the locks not latch? Sounds like a key/locksmith problem. Never had it myself.
If the key won’t come out of the lock, I’m not sure, but if the key comes out, I’d start with a bit of olive/3-in-1 oil or W40 on the key and leave it sit in the lock before working it to and fro a few times. If you can open the door, try the same with the latches. WD40 is last choice as it dries after a while, but it’s good for releasing stuck metal parts. Good news that your bar stops the door opening. Can you take it back to seller/dealer?

Best lubricant for locks is graphite powder oil etc tends to help dust turn solid apparently

Absolutely agree that’s the biz tacr2man but I never have graphite powder when I need it! Maybe the quick-dry WD40 would be better

Thanks for taking the time to answer, I somehow managed to fix it. I tried both keys, both ways several times and managed to sort it (Even though I did it multiple times before asking for advice). So where you turn the key left to lock, and right to unlock and it should return to a central upright position. It was stuck to the right in unlock, and the key just wouldn’t go in And it was jammed solid.

Where you do the hook up/battery, you could remove the key when it was in the unlock position, but not in the lock position.

So glad I wangled it somehow!

Welcome to the club !! We’ve all done something like that

I am going to invest in some graphite powder for future reference! Sounds like a handy thing to keep around. Thanks for the suggestions everyone, hopefully it won’t happen again, but might just spray a bit of the stuff around as perhaps if the locks are a bit stiff, this is how I got into this pickle

Did I read that it is the hab door lock you are having problems with?

Mine is very temperamental and I have to be careful that it's returned to the upright position before I shut the door as it is possible to lock myself out.

Was there an earlier thread detaling the problem, if not some of you must be mind readers?

Yes it was, I will be super careful and slow going forward. Because of the position of the fiamma bar, it’s a bit fiddly.

Yes, I edited it to save people the time and trouble of reading a problem and answering it, only to discover it had been resolved
