Are you accessing it via a computer or a tablet/phone? Some devices only give full access when linked to a PC.

Have you got the Netgear app ?
I have the M1 and use it to access all functions

hi Chris

its accessed via my Imac

Al
I'm not familiar with Apple devices i'm afraid, is it considered a mobile device? I bought a secondhand unlocked ZTE Mf286d and when using the ip address to connect from a tablet or phone I wasn't able to change the APN and some other attributes, however when connected to my laptop it allowed me to access all available settings.

i've got both the Netgear and ID Mobile app, when i've just looked at the ID mobile settings/services the roaming was turned off, no idea why either :(

Anyway i've turned it on and its pending so maybe thats whats up so i'll let you guys know as soon as its showing on again

thanks and fingers crossed

Al

Al, have you tried to access your dashboard, using the router's address, ie, 192.168.1.1 , if not accessing tools from the App?

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Do you have the correct APN?
i'm not 100% but think so, its all gobbledygook to me tbh, well sort of it is. I can see no where to change it as well. It found that it was a 3 network sim and installed what I think are the default settings

Thats exactly what i've done Jock on both counts

the ID mobile app is saying i've now got data roaming on, so is the netgear app i've discovered but the dashboard for the netgear router is as the photo i've posted in post 1.

It may be when i go into europe it all works as it should but i'm trying to find out it if will or not before finding out it won't when its too late

See if the settings you have match those in the link.

Since making those adjustments Al, have you turned your router off and on again?
It might be worth a go. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

i’ll check those tomorrow as my heads in bits lol but thanks

edit. i’ve just changed the apn settings to id as suggested and now I can’t access the router at all so a factory reset tomorrow is needed 😰

Sorry to hear that, you would need all the settings not just the APN. And don't forget to turn it off and on again to load the new settings.

I don't see anywhere to enter the MMSC, I am at vanbitz at the moment and i need to get up early for them to work on my motorhome. I'll see if I can find a manual for your device tomorrow if you're are still having issues with the roaming and see if we can't get it sorted.

is MMSC used for messaging Chris

if so this is for a mobile wifi router not an mobile phone

but what do I know lol

Yes you're correct, i'm half asleep here I think. There are some videos on YouTube about setting up the APN on Netgear M1's you might want to have a look and see if they help.

This sounds above my pay grade. I just recently popped an ID mobile sim into a Huawei dongle connected to a Mi fi system and it worked straight away. Just as well or I would have been in your shoes. I’m really pleased with it, hope yours works soon. They even carry over unused data into this month.

Yep, same set up and easy access for me Phil, apart from a signal strength problem on the Suffolk coast, but popping the sim into my phone got over that one.
I'm on 70Gb a month, and yesterday when I fired up the MiFi, I've got 140Gb now, so by the time we do cross the water again, I might not need to upgrade or top up. ;)

Al n Val, are you any further forward yet Al? I seem to remember you had problems too with either the Popit sim, or the Tiekom sim, can't remember which.

Good luck,

Jock. :)

I’m hoping for the same when we “go Europe” in September. I might even take a fire stick and try streaming how cool is that 😎
