Lots now
We are currently at Gibraltar (the Aire at the marina Spanish side).
Suggestions please for somewhere to celebrate my birthday number 4# 11/10/not telling
We would like to move on after travelling down through Portugal so ideally up the coast towards Marbella and beyond.
I can cook but would love someone else to do it. ie an aire or campsite near to a cracking restaurant.
Thanks to all responses to my first world problem.

Cabopino

OK acsi, nice restauarant on site, Indian (OK ) 100 yards down the road and several around the port area

Pre MH days we used to rent a villa in a village called San Pablo de Buceite about 1/2 hr inland from Gibraltar.
If you leave The Gibraltar area via the main road CA34 to join the A7 at San Roque. Turn south on the A7 and the A405 is the next junction on the right. There is an Aire at a new village called Castellar de la Frontera if you want to stay in the area.

In San Pablo there were two very good restaurants, both of which had enough car parking around them to accommodate a MH ( think Britstops).....

(a) Restaurante Los Cachollas

(b)
Restaurante La Estación

There is a very quiet area within the village that would be suitable for overnighting at ....

if you carry on up the A405 it is a lovely run up through Gaucin to Ronda. From there you can turn right, back to Marbella or left, cross country, towards Seville. Really nice scenery both ways.

Canna help the OP, but I never realised how long the A7 is ! Goes from bottom to almost the very top of Spain

The A7 also designated E15 under eu markings runs from Algeciras & the other end is Inverness. Some useless info for the pub quiz.

If you want a really good dining experience in a traditional Spanish restaurant that offers good food at a reasonable price you won’t go wrong at this one San Rafael, it’s 200m from the Bella Vista Campsite but you could stay close by the Chiringuito shown in the image .

20 minutes from Gib.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
2 days on a site and maybe some suckling pig for a birthday treat.
Choice the Bella vista campsite it’s a bit tight getting a 9m tag onto the pitch but mission accomplished. Thanks Littlewheels

Well now you will definitely not be disappointed with the Suckling Pig as it’s a speciality of the house,I might also recommend your choice of Red wine is the one of the day which is on each table as a recommendation, great value and I have never been disappointed in over 20 years that the current owner has been there.

We are located 5 minutes away so it’s a favorite, enjoy the birthday treat.
