The Motorhome we were looking at has Sat Nav built in but requires an Navigational SD Card. Will need to do some research on the best SD card to purchase, but was wondering, do these provide live traffic updates?

On such units the navigation software is on a micro SD card, you don’t need to buy one. If the unit doesn’t have the card installed it probably won’t have any navigation.
Hope for your sake it is not an Xzent.

You will probably find the card will tied to the head unit so you won't have a choice.

If its got Android Auto and Apple Car Play, you can choose what you want.

I really wouldn't bother with any inbuilt sat nav. The Pioneer units in most Fiat/Peogeot chassis use tomtom, and are, in my opinion completely useless even with latest maps. Waste of your time updating it, we wasted time doing it when we got our motorhome as we wouldn't believe others until we saw how bad it was ourselves.

Just use Waze on a phone (or an alternatvie thats more height aware if you can't read street signs). We usually just use Waze ourselves, bridges, even in Europe are quite well signed we have found (and a lot rarer in France, Rouen excepted) than over here).

Should add we were around Beverly this weekend on road junction that literally opened that week and Waze correctly knew about it. Unlike everything else we had, which was causing confusion from many drivers ahead.

Depends on which brand you have fitted, if its a Zenec you can subscribe to live traffic supplied by tomtom
