Here is a little game to kick off the week, name the road in the UK with the worst driving standards. I will kick off, The A13 into London, particularly the stretch from the M25 to the Limehouse Link Tunnel near Canary Wharf. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, anytime, night and day the driving is atrocious. Over the last few months I have had the misfortune to drive this road at least twice a week, I am lucky to still be alive, it is like the whacky races. Despite speed traps, average speed cameras and heavy traffic the appalling driving never fails to amaze. Lane discipline, whats that.... speed cameras, not my problem mate... undertaking is the norm. If one dares to stick to the speed limit to save your licence you are greeted with lights, tailgating and the middle finger. I am thinking of starting a Youtube Channel to chart my trips.. This time next year I will be a millionaire... What really grinds my gears though is the lack of Fuzz to catch these idiots. Our friendly Bobbies are all to happy to sit on a quiet B road behind a tree and catch one poor bloke doing 33mph on a Sunday morning but the A13 in Essex... not sight nor sound... Rant over..... Have a good safe week everyone.

Wouldn't go anywhere near London so doesn't affect me, but how do they get away with speed cameras?

I think they know how to sprint between the speed cameras, and the position of the average speed traps. It also appears that if you join the A13 from a slip road between the two average speed cameras its gloves off... pedal to the metal...

A17 Lincolnshire mainly head on due to overtaking.
Volume of traffic on single lane roads, build lots of houses in the middle of nowhere and then lots of people commute to work along with all the other traffic already. I bet that there’s places all over the country like that

Quite possibly but living near the A17 you hear a lot of emergency services and reported fatalities, but you are right about the volume of traffic and it would help if it was duel carriageway.

I think that the way we dual those roads is a bit daft with all the roundabout put in. It must create a lot of pollution with motors braking and accelerating from the roundabout instead of having slip roads

Had you not noticed Policing has switched priorities from enforcement of road traffic offences, many now being taken over by local authorities, soon to be moving traffic offences, to social control.
Probably in the very near future a paramilitary force that will have quite a different agenda.

Heaven forbid you or I have an alternative view to the published narrative a visit will ensue. Freedom of speech is fading and only when it effects you will you take action, unfortunately that will be too late.
Policing of roads is no longer a priority, trading at Lydd camp is
Make your own enquiries

A13 has never been great. It was a racetrack before the cameras, so the speed cameras have slowed it a bit. The white van man and commuters, dont have patience for the ditherers and lane hoggers or the Lakeside shoppers.😀
A12 isnt a lot better.
The A13 was worse when single carriageway through Rainham, pre M25.
Though very busy. I think because they are soo congested, the roads around London arent the most dangerous. I think Rutland has the most dangerous roads, well it used to have anyway!

Some forces take roads policing more seriously!

According to some recent insurance company survey (can't remember the name) the NC500 was the most dangerous .

I'm regularly on that road, and it also suffers from people jumping out of junctions right in front of you and cutting you up, as if they think my 2.5 VW is going to be travelling at about 35mph...

Probably because so many people aren't concentrating on the actual road when they're on it.
Though someone I know was lucky to escape from a head on collision on that route when a delivery van came round the corner on the wrong side of the road and wiped out their car. The car was totally destroyed, and he and his passenger were very lucky to get out without serious injury.

Have you tried ranting to the local police department for that area..? They won’t know about till they get reports on the situation…😎

The M180/A180 had a lot of problems with accidents when I was doing breakdown work mostly people falling asleep or being distracted by a long boring road.
I lost the o/s door mirror from my truck whilst I was loading on the hard shoulder. That was a brown trouser moment.

Yep the A17, one decent length of dual carriageway to overtake in 60 miles or you take your chances. Oh I forget the double lane at the Chapelgate roundabout where the water tower is, take the outside lane and get past three lorries before the road narrows again!

One of our sons lives up that way……what a pain in the bum that road is.

Join the convoy of LGV’s or tractors……or both!

Living around here has its advantages with no motorways or good road connections ie crime is quite low (apart from your local drug dealers) and caravan dwellers, but it’s not an easy place to get in and get out quickly and most of the stabbings are just confined to Eastern European friends sorting them selves out but not much in the way of gangs or racially motivated crime 👍

I guess it depends if you’re getting hare coursing go on , on your land, or fly tipping if you think that there’s not much crime
