We currently have 1 x 120w solar panel fitted and 2 x 110ah AGM leisure batteries. Although there an MPPT fitted already, its a chinese cheapy that appears not to be suitable for our set up (fitted by dealer when van was new)

I'm wondering if anyone can give me a recommendation which MPPT controller to buy taking into consideration our plan to fit a second 120w solar in the not too distant future.

Thanks, Paul

Victron and Votronic seem the popular brands and most recommended on here (y)
Also the ones stocked by the reputable companies.

Hi Paul.

You say a Chinese one already fitted? Is it the Epever would you know? I have this and now having just spoken with a guy off here regarding settings etc, works well.
My Sargent kept shutting down because of over charge settings being incorrect. Just been advised what to do and now in the process of testing again.
At this time currently...all seems good. Will see.

Thanks tonka, Kev and Carolyn, it's not the Epever but from earlier identification and help from other funsters, it's obviously not suited to our needs which is why I'm looking to upgrade.

If you have 120W and may add a further 120W then look at the Victron Blue Solar MPPT 100/20.

Victron Smart Solar for me. I selected the model with Bluetooth built in.
And then because the run to my batteries is quite long I bought the Battery monitor from them that sends true battery voltage back to the solar controller.

Often 10% discount offered just for signing up to people like 12V Planet.

Ours is a votronic 350 and has been fine for 3 years good bit of kit always buy bigger then you need and grow into it.

We have the Votronic 350, it can be set up to power the AES fridge from solar

Thanks everyone for the advice. Now googling prices :wasntme:

I was going to recommend the Votronic MPP350 as I have one and it works really, got it from Photonic Universe after recommendations on here.
I noticed they no longer stock Votronic but list this:
Things move on and maybe there are better ones out there now, checking with Photonic Universe might not be a bad idea.
