Hi looking for a TV aerial for my MH there's a lot out there. I will wanting to work well in Europe . Any recommendations will be appreciated. Thanks

Any antenna may work in Europe but will your TV.
France, for one, is now full HD only.... Is your TV?
If not you won't get a picture.

Does France not use a different broadcast system as well, they did when they were analogue.

Ah, but which digital? French digital radio is different 3UK DAB.

Edit: Just checked, they use the same standard as UK now.

As PPJ says it is the same as us BUT you have to have an HD tuner in the TV. Not just an "HD ready" one. And there are not many programmes in France that are terrestrial digital, about 30 or so at most from what I can remember.

We only have 23 channels here, Edinburgh has over 150, bone of contention as we all pay the same licence fee.

Thanks for the info its brilliant

Cheap satellite dish from Amazon if your tv has sat tuner, use dish align app to set it up.
I bolt mine to the cycle carrier or to the front tow eye.
If you can see south left a bit job done easy

If you have big phone data and an HDMI connection on your TV get a firestick and ditch the aerial.
That would depend on the amount of roaming data , as the OP wants it for Europe

I am aware of that. ATM Roan Like Home is still current and will continue if there's a deal after the transition period. Even if not phone operators have no plans to introduce charges.

Yes; in analogue broadcast days.
French & a few other countries used SECAM
We & some other countries used PAL*
USA, etc. used NTSC

*- There were several versions of PAL types adopted in different countries. Iirc some were based on 50hz some on 60hz, & other differences.
I bet there were derivatives of NTSC & SECAM too 😳

Do you really want the other 127 versions of cr*p repeats?

Good discussion on TV transmission signals, but does anyone have suggestions for the aerial as OP asked?

Status Vision Plus directional aerial. Comes complete with signal finder and amplifier. Two versions depending upon where you put it. The short one as per the link for fitting in an overhead locker or a longer one for fitting into a wardrobe.

But this will only pick up local channels, so no English programmes when in Europe. If you want those you need to use the internet via a smart TV or an external unit like the Amazon Firestick. You will need a good data allowance as it will eat up the Megabytes. Alternatively you could go fora satellite dish, but don't expect much on the Costas.

The Status Vision Plus is on our van so it’s a choice between that and a reshaped wire hanger 😳

Does the OP want views on the best aerial that has external or internal mount options?

I was answering the question from 68c not the OPs. Our Status works in UK and Europe. But you do need to find the best signal, using its signal finder and checking for both horizontal and vertical polarity signals

My Maxview B2414 with amp picks up some digital French telly at most locations. Telly is a cheapo 19" Manta LCD with built in (Freeview) decoder. Picks up Freeview very well in UK

Sorry if I added confusion. I only saw the 68c post where there was a reminder about the OP’s query. 👍🏻
