Motorhome stuck on Welsh beach

I'm sure you're right, first time I've seen it though. You've got to be a bit of a tit to get anything stuck at Black Rock Sands. Last time I was there I was watching idiots deliberately take their cars into the water, waiting for one to get stuck or conk out due to water ingress - somehow they avoided it.

I am sorry, as all people make mistakes but "What an idiot!"
Parking on sand, unless firm and hard is rarely advisable but parking on tidal sand.... waste of a good van:madder:

Why park something as heavy as a MoHo on a beach?

It was on radio Wales yesterday when driving home some locals not amused at how often people ignore the warnings and the cost and disruption to local community. Including harbour master coastguard and local farmers being asked to help get them out .there was not a lot of sympathy.
Watched similar last year, a local drove onto the beach to launch his boat , the boat floated the car is on on ebay with 'some signs of water egress' 1 not so careful owner .

You're absolutely fine at Black Rock Sands so long as you follow the very, very well published guidance and use common sense. The sand in the areas you are supposed to drive on is very solid indeed, no danger at all of getting stuck. You do need to watch the tides of course but it's all in the guidance.

Having the motorhome on the beach is great, gives you a good base. We used to find it a great day out with the kids, I'd shower the sand off them through the bathroom window before they got back in the van!

One of early memories is "driving" my Dad's car down the beach at Black Rock in the evenings when it was quiet - me sat on his lap and steering, him working the pedals! I did the same with my kids when they were tots. Technically naughty as it's officially a road, but in the evening when it's very quiet and you have an empty strip of sand several hundred feet wide to drive along at 10mph, who's to know unless you post it on t'internet for all to see.....

Ah... that'll be a FWD then...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I've taken my current and my previous van on BlackRock, no problem

That van looks a long way out and I mean a looooooooooooooong way out 🤷‍♂️

Would you? I wouldn’t.

I have parked on there in my 5 tonne MoHo, Parked nr the ice cream van not to far from the entrance, well away from the sea. Had no problem

You can take any van on there so long as you follow the guidance and stick to the safe areas. It's really not like most beaches - the sand is so solid that you hardly make a dent in it. You can head down towards the sea so long as you pull back up the beach well before the tide comes in.

I cannot remember ever going there but hey its worth a look now ..........................

You have to be a bit thick to allow that to happen.

Growing up on the coast of Wales I witnessed many instances of such thickness by holidaymakers, including sinking their boats while trying to launch them off the beach in heavy seas:rolleyes:
