BENIMAR BENIVAN 122
Anyone any ideas on where to buy a kitchen sink bowl for a benimar benivan 122- 2019

You would not believe the price of a Bailey sink bowl replacement , if you could buy one in Morrisons for £2 , have a guess ?

We found a small washing up bowl in an old fashioned hardware shop in Upton Upon Severn. Obviously I don’t know if it would fit your van but they had a variety of sizes, round and rectangular. They ranged from 99p to about £1.49 That sort of shop would be your best bet. Fits a treat in our PVC sink. Most bowls are just too deep.

The previous one was from a chinese shop in Spain but had got tatty as they do.

Lidl have some small washing up bowls in at the moment as well.
Edit

I use one of the plastic garden trug things with handles - the small shallow ones are ideal.

What I miss most about Spain ... The daily visit to the Chinese Shop to buy LEDs, wine glasses, watering cans and funnels for the caravan toilet flush topping up, washing up bowls, plastic boxes etc etc. And then to the Ferreteria [spelling?] to rummage around for odd screws, gas regulators and tubing ... Bliss!

Won't be the same any more, even post COVID, with a m/home where everything works. Can't imagine Brunhilde getting honorary Spanish Coastguard Lighthouse Status like Swifty the Caravan did after an evening at Benicarlo with the outside light flashing on and off for some 4 hours of darkness until I gave up for the night ...

There's an excellent builders merchant-cum-hardware store in Broadway where we got a cheap white bowl that is the exact size for our Rapido Van's sink.

Too flipping true - they're absolute rubbish and if you're lucky and the driver doesn't catch fire then they may last a month or two.
Like an idiot Ibought a 15mm spanner (only because I was in a desperate hurry, couldn't access my garage and the Chinese was open on a sunday). Totally un hardened - the Jaws just opened up like it was made of toffee. The ever unsmiling staff did change it. That one exactly the same. The third one, however, had been hardened and one jaw just snapped off. No apologies, no excuses given just a face on him like it was nothing to worry about at all.
My Nan used to say if you buy cheap you pay twice and she was right.

I have never understood the need for a bowl. The sink in my motorhome holds water, provided I put the plug in, and when I want to empty it I just pull the plug out. How does a bowl improve my washing up experience?

You obviously don’t feel the need to be very economical with your water use like some of us perhaps. It’s surprising how big a difference it makes.

I'm with you on this.

My sinks tiny as it is and I find bowls most unhygienic to say the least.

Plug in, 50 gallons later, plug out and the water disappears like magic 😀👍🏻

I prefer a bowl and empty it in a hedgerow whenever appropriate to save filling up the grey tank.
The bowl's also handy for sloshing the washing up water at feral cats.

Ooooh you mentioned grey water, now you've done it.

You're not supposed to empty grey anywhere other than on a site and down a regulated drain.

It's something to do with peas, sweet corn and the possibility of people, horses or motorbikes slipping on them 😬😀😅😂😇

My peas flush into the cassette and the sweat corn from the shower goes into the grey tank. ;)
And if you have corn on the cob, you need an appointment with both a chiropodist and a Sexual Health Practitioner ...

Plenty of different size and shape bowls from Red Gorilla, formerly TubTrugs, the 5ltr mini shallow gorilla fits our sink just perfick..

I use a large standard household bowl for washing-up which sits on the work surface next to the MH sink. The clean washing-up items go in the MH sink to drain.

The used washing-up water gets disposed of responsibly, usually in a nearby bush or planted area. My grey tank never requires cleaning, haha !!! Please note: paper towel is used to remove grease from plates etc so the used water is pretty clean and shouldn't harm the environment or produce odours.

During the great Drought of 1976 we were advised to use washing up and bath water to water the garden, which I did. The runner beans did well.
Dennis Howell, Minister for Sport & The Drought. More successful causing the drought than improving sports performance ...

If my washing up bowl is full of particles, I often tip it down the loo, particularly if I know I will empty the cassette in the morning.
