People talk about the shows on here so can you tell me which you prefer and why.
Which one has most dealers showing vehicles? What about the number of trade stands?

If staying on site what about evening entertainment?

Which ones in the UK do you prefer?

malvern is bigger than most and plenty of entertainment

lincoln is another big one but last one of the year first big one is peterboro

Malvern in uk more chance of good weather.

Dusseldorf knocks them all out of the park if you want to buy a mh though.

Another vote for Malvern although Peterborough is bigger. They both have great entertainment with Malvern being country and western themed. Of the two NEC shows the October one is by far the best, and there are a few real duffers as well! Whilst the Stratford show may be fantastic for its rally the show itself is awful and the January Manchester show has always been a real disappointment when we have visited it. The Newury show is ok with good entertainment and rally.

I have been attending "shows" (on and off) and even Marshalling (for Clubs) since the early 80`s. Our first was the Old Shepton Mallet show, when we still had our caravan. The Number of traders has reduced considerably, since the Internet became the "go to" place, and many dealers have dropped shows altogether often citing "increasing cost". Warner's can be hit and miss Peterborough last Year was Middling, and a bit soggy, Lincoln was Reasonable. They where the only 2 I went to, but others who did Malvern, which used to be excellent (we got hard standing for the R-V`s) was reported to be mediocre?. One problem we have now, is that IF we go we can no longer book, lost too much money having to pull out at last minute for medical reasons of late. So by time we arrive the only places are with "unbooked" and the disable unbooked are further from any venue, and all the clubs are fully booked.:(

Glasgow is on next week. It’s small but handy for us. Mum loves nothing more to nosey in each and every single one. :D

This may give you a starting point.

Peterborough, Malvern and Lincoln I would rate as my top three from their list. Based on attandance and size of show.
Entertainment at Warner's is usually very popular but you have to pay for some.
As Motorhome fun are one of the biggest clubs attending we often get supplied with our own marquee and that's handy for our own get together's where we sort our own entertainment.

Stratford, run by Appletreee in June is another popular one. Not really for the show and exhibitors as that is disappointing BUT people mainly attend for the location and reasonable priced camping. Again with about 100 fun motorhomes we often have a great week.

All of the above, we normally check out what entertainment is on and go from there, when you've looked around the stalls at Peterborough there going to be virtually the same at all the other shows, the night time entertainment always swings it for us, Joe pasquale last year, not my cup of tea I thought but he was hilarious

I'm a show virgin , but that might change on Friday. Thinking of going to the Glasgow show , CCC do a voucher which gets two people in for £13 quid , looking at ad for show that is half price.
The £13 saving I can spend in the bar , that'll get me three pints if I'm lucky at SECC prices :D. Then I can test the van facilites properly(y).

Thats a good offer , full price is £12.10 and pensioners £11. We being true scots don't normally pay and get 2 freebie tickets sent to us each year by one of the motorhome companies :D2

IMO Caravan Salon at Dusseldorf is the only one worth going to. Biggest show in Europe. Gets expensive, every time we go we end up buying a new van.

I like Newbury as its close to home and the entertainment is second to none. . Plenty of diversity of vendors as well .

And if you were wanting to buy new the Düsseldorf show is before the main exhibition in the U.K. so pre ordering is not an extended period. Much better choice too - in our opinion!

Lincoln seems to have a friendly atmosphere. With people saying their goodbyes before heading south for the winter or planning to meet up down there.

We're true Scots too , maybe we don't get free tickets as we bought the van in Devon:D.
Looking forward to first show , hope the good lady's purse is full.
I'm 65 and a bit , do you think it would be cheeky to ask for half pensioners rate(y). Feel 56 but I'm 65 BOOOOOO.
John

Get your 40’s/50’s clobber out and go to the Stoneleigh (Warwickshire) show. Good live bands; motorhome show not bad either.

If you fancy a Jive, but you’ve forgotten the steps from your yoof (or you’re younger and not of that era) there’s free dance classes - even those with two left feet will triumph!

MHF normally have a corralled rally field, which is very friendly.

If the missus, (or significant other :D2) are fed up with traipsing in and out of ‘vans, or you banging on about Alko chassis, there’s a liberty bus on the Friday to Stratford-upon-Avon (£10 per person) or to Leamington spa (£3 pp) on the Saturday.

Done Newbury and Shepton last year enjoyed both will be doing Newbury again this year and hope to get to Stoneleigh really enjoyed the whole weekend great entertainment for a pretty good price
