Just renewed with LV on multi car policy [1 car + 1 m/home]. European cover for up to 180 days per annum, no qualifying NCB + Legal expenses, £250 excess and 10000 miles pa for £273.55 with m/home normally parked outside the flat. VW Tiguan 150bhp TDi on same terms but with Protected NCB, £311.31, so a mere £567.13 hit on the cretin card for next month's bill! Caravan & Motorhome Club promised to beat existing quote for m/home by at least £25 but came back with some £767 just for the m/home and an excess of £350 ...

2018 but still a newbie.
Being new to this getting insurance for a van in conversion was harder than I expected.

Mainly down to 2 factors. The van is parked on the street and it's my daily driver with a drive to work. Ohh and my postcode.

All meant that most broker's couldn't get me cover. Only Adrian Flux cam back with £601. Which doesn't seem that bad to me, pretty used to paying higher premium.

It always seems to me customers of insurance companies miss important factors and settle on a premium price only.
Great many threads on here about claims experience of what might seem major players, certainly worth revisiting by potential customers.
Then terms written to the policy rarely ever read until that fateful day an incident occurs.
Yes like many price to me is important, however I do research claims history, and on this site we have a vast range of experience to draw from. Then read the small print boring oh yes, however not a boring as making a claim and finding your either not covered or terms applied that reduce their liabilities.
