Not sure where to put this . . .

I need the mechanical side of a motorhome inspected, the company I was using only goes up to 3500kg, but the vehicle has been upped to 3850kg. Does anyone know of an 'inspector' or company that deals with slightly heavier motorhomes? The vehicle is in the Scunthorpe area.

And out of interest, why do so many cut off at 3500kg?

Many thanks, and admin(s) feel free to relocate to appropriate forum.

Same with a lot of garages as most only have 3500 kg ramp.
Where I take my van for a service although a commercial outfit they can only do MOT's up to 3500kg as they don't have an MOT licence for doing them over the pit.

Thanks for coming back so quickly Lenny. I think my frustration is that it probably weighs just 3100kg of course.

The step above 3500kg takes the same vehicle into the PHGV category even though it is still a class 4 MOT, the same as a car.

Oh and the mechanics will need a C1 licence to drive the heavier vehicles and as most are younger, then it is not a category they got automatically on their licence, having passed after 1996
