i'm a newbie
Can anyone give me some idea of costs i.e. Motorhome swap, insurance motorhome any costs that I might need to know about

Do you mean buying a new van or just swapping with someone for a holiday?(n)

£150 a year for Habitation Check - Optional
£150 a year Chassis service
Road fund licence - up to 3.5 ton - £160 a year
Road fun licence - over 3.5 ton - £250 a year
£400 - Insurance a year
£40 - MOT a year
£100 a year - Tyres (budget for recommended periodic renewal)
£100 a year - Cam belt change (budget for recommended periodic renewal)

All approx of course but costs not too far away for us.

Don't have any extra's fitted until you have used it a couple of times and definitely know you want them.

Is this something like you are looking for?

Our last swap cost us £23k, depreciation over 3 years on the previous van was only a few k most of the cost was going up to a more expensive van.
Insurance went up a £100 to £390.

Your question is a bit like how long is a piece of string, depends on what you are swapping for what.

Its a bit like asking what it costs to swap your car or house as long as abit of string

You need to be more specific in what you want.
I'm not being awkward but it strikes me as an unusual request bearing in mind that you've been a Funster since April 2014.......................

Twice as long as half its length Simples

Just renewed my road tax from January 1st online. My logbook states I'm 4250 and I pay £165. Must be getting a loyalty discount from DVLA.

Or as one of the fishermen on Brighton beach used to shout from his rowing boat:
"'Arfway to France for a tanner, the other 'arf tomorrow".
