MOT Cornwall, Cornwall/Devon Borders

Greetings All,

The problem,
I cannot find a garage to MOT our 7.5m, 4.5t Pilote.

We live on the Cornwall/Devon border and the seemingly constant problem is the GVM of it.
Plenty of places have the hoist but they say their lift would be at the limit. One garage told me that they lost a day of MOT's recently because a hydraulic hose burst.

Over to you, the Funsters.

PS. My 'Go to' place Plymouth City and Bus, (who do the local buses) have ceased trading.

After ringing all around Plymouth, I've finished up booking it in at Mead Garage, Ashburton. (Thanks go to Naomi at Simon Select) for the suggestion.

It's a desert out there in the wider Plymouth area for MOT's

Okehampton ?? - they look after our 40 foot RV ??

Before I got the solution, I was willing to go anywhere up the border.

Another one is an HGV garage at Greendale Business Park near Exeter. They do work for the Exeter NHS. They do the servicing and MOT's on my 5 ton Tag Axle N & B Arto 88F.

Another possibility is Harry Moore Commercials in Lee Mill Ivybridge. They are a VOSA ATF for HGV so size wouldn’t be a problem and they have the Iveco franchise.

Doublebois MOT are very good if you are on the better/Cornish side of the border!

Benedict’s Bridge garage at Liverton. The owner has a motorhome too. The workshop has a high roof and big ramps and they’re an MoT station. Excellent workmanship and good, honest people.

Not after last year when, after giving me an 'Advisory' for insufficient bulbs in my high level Brake light at the rear, then gave me a 'Pass' but still put on the same advisory EVEN AFTER I HAD REPLACED THE WHOLE REAR BRAKE LIGHT ASSEMBLY WITH AN UPDATED LED VERSION OF THE SAME SET UP.

That’s good to know. Always see campers out front when I drive past at work. I’ll need somewhere to take our Autotrail(when we get it).
