View attachment 449353With the waves lapping at our toes we have made it to La Tranche-sur-Mer just north of La Rochelle.
We left Cardiff on Monday afternoon as le petite chien had an appoitment with a qwack, so night stops at Newbury and Rye we had a completely uneventful tunnel crossing in fact we slept undwr the channel. Then headed south west till we made a pit stop at Le Mans (šŸ¤£) well a lovely little village just west called La Suze sur Sarthe, the aire (camp site) was on the banks of the river and our evening meal was a masquerade stroll across le pont.
We woke to blue skies and after 3 days being cooped up Dylan was doing flikflaks around the site.
I've been in a teeshirt all day which means it ain't cold anymore! and we've found ourselves a little spot in a forest with sand dunes between us and the breakers we can hear now.
The last few weeks have been busy, the last few day intense, now we're going to relax and unwind.
Here's to wishing you all a very brief but Merry Christmas and a 2021 that puts 2020 in the past xx

Is this first hand info? The lorries are normally separated from the cars as soon as you arrive at Eurotunnel and if they re stacked on the M20 then you can drive past.

Hi Jon,
Whilst our ticket was for 07:20 on Wednesday morning, as we got there a early we chanced it and drove to the terminal (Tuesday afternoon) and yes there was a 10 mile tailback of arctics on the hard shoulder (single lane) however once we got onto the slip road they we're 2 abreast (2 lanes). This did not hinder us and we we're still able to drive to the terminal albeit to be turned around as they had extra room for high sided vehicles. Once we returned for our designated slot the tailback had all but disappeared (we we're surprised to see that Eurotunnel had cleared the backlog).
So in summary even with lorry tailbacks passenger vehicles should have no issues.
Good Luck,
Martin
