I know this is a known 'feature', that the temp. gauge works when it feels like it, and I don't really care if it works or not because I check my engine regularly, but... has anyone found the part, or earth connection location, that stops the thing working? Mine sometimes works then quickly drops back down to cold when whatever's dodgy becomes dodgier.
I've wiggled the earth points inside the cab on the right, and the ones stuck to each side of the engine bay. I've detached the connections to the gauge itself and plugged it back in again - looks fine, and I've cleaned the connections on what I believe is the sender itself, although I'm not sure it is.
Any further thoughts?
