My router has a 'Main' and 'Aux' connection.
I have a Poynting MIMO-3-V2.
Does it make any difference which lead goes to which connection?

Geoff

Are you sure that the router has connections for an external aerial, when I looked into it not many had. My aerial is connected to a HUAWEI mifi.

Yes. My router has two external antenna connection ports and they are designated as Main and Aux. So I was thinking that the Poynting antenna also has Main and Aux, but nothing in the user manual.

If you only connect one antenna cable it goes on the main, if you have a 2x2 antenna then the second cable goes to aux. So if you have an antenna connected you must always have one cable on the main. If that makes sense.

It doesn’t, both cables for the 4G from mimo are connected to two individual antennas inside the roof box. You can swap them round make no difference. The only thing matters, if you got wifi cables don’t swap them with the 4G. They are colour coded.

Thank you Raul. I had tried both ways but did not notice any difference. I can carry out speed tests back to back and they are always different, so difficult to compare performance.
