Milenco screens

Hi what do people think of these?
We were going to buy silver screens as we plan to do a lot of skiing but this is much cheaper and says it can provide thermal protection up to minus 20. Any thoughts?

We have internal Milenco screens which are ok & just bought secondhand Taylormade silver screens for not much more than one of the above but not tried it yet. Have read on forums that a lot start with the thinner screens then end up buying Taylormade or Silver Screens - both have a cult following!

The Milenco ones are much thinner so you won't benefit as much as if you get genuine Taylormade or Silver Screen ones.

If price an issue search for used ones as they are often around.. Every set I have bought in 15 years have come as second hand.. What van do you have ???

Same here, we always buy them second-hand, some people buy them new and can't be bothered to put them on/take them off so sell them ... benefits us though as we get them cheaper and DO use them a lot!

Had the milenco screens. They only lasted a season before bits started falling off and they eventually started leaking so they filled with rain.
Have now got Taylormade. Much better quality.
Buy cheap buy twice.

The Milenco screen looks quite thin and baggy to me. I can recommend Taylormade, quick service, snug fit. I thought they were a bit expensive and thought I would make one myself but I couldn't have made it to the same standard. There's a lot of work in them. We get no condensation even on the coldest night.

Fitting an external screen breaks rule number 1 of wild camping, camping on Aires on some would say even campsites. The rule 1 that says you should be able to move off immediately in case of trouble. That rule is why I use internal screens, but usually not at night unless it feels really safe!

Yes we would prefer second hand silver screens. (Or similar)
We have a Hymer 654 legend 25 post 06/2006
I spoke to the silver screen guy who said it's hard to fit as they are all different sizes / specs which is why we need them measured.
Does anyone know exactly what size silver screens we would need so I can look out for second hand?
Also do you put them on against summer heat?

I've seen the van comfort and Taylor made ones and they look fine but prefer silverscreens.
It's a choice between the three isn't it.
We use them wherever we are ... summer and winter.
We never have condensation on the front screen either.

I got great service from them, and have been gobsmacked by how good they are in use, and easy to fit.

Recently used in Lake District last week, -4 and snow, absolutely no condensation at all.

I have a Fiamma screen. Pile of poo, blows off when windy as the bottom is only held on by weak magnets. Very stiff material and difficult to get onto the vehicle.

We had milenco on our last van, easy to fit although a bit loose in places, regardless they stopped condensation. Used them in rain, snow and icy conditions all fine. Packed away easily as well.

Have changed van and had to get model specific cover, Hindermann much more money, very bulky, very good though.

We used a Milenco screen on our motorhome as a winter protection as it covered the bonnet air vents
Bought it in October by February it was cracking up and useless
