mileage on adverts for the unwary

have been looking at motorhome/campers for sale on the main websites ebay gumtree autotraider and preloved.
Know all about checking the govt website re mots etc, but some new buyers may not.
Am shocked at the number of 'low mileage' vehicles which are being advertised at eg only 65000 wiith a lovely photo of the mileage when there would, if the digit were present be a 1 at the front i.e 165000.
A quick mot check should reveal the truth
How do they get away with it?

Dreaming really still don't like my car and if I am going to change it may as well get a dual purpose vehicle it's the rear seatbelts which is the stumbling block, that and i am a tight a**e and I already have the Mizar apart from a couple of trips John takes, although they are increasing, he is taking the van on a some this year where I would have gone off on my own without him. So inconsiderate
